I don't know why but when I see 'UK based group' I assume they'll have no money!
A group comprising Mervyn King, Dave Cameron and William Windsor might be able to scrape a few quid together.
And Dave could be looking for a new job in May.

In my defence I happened to see it on a villa selling page on facebook.

Just read a bit about him.  A venture capitalist and net worth of 300m.  Sounds just what we need....not.
That would just about cover Sheikh Mansoors milk bill.

I thought that Randy's original idea was to market us as America's English team.

The General confirmed on here that they planned to link us to a franchise in the US, with the caveat that it was not imminent, so I can imagine that the original idea was to market us there.  Shame really...

I'm not sure what would make us 'America's English Team' over other Premier League sides owned by Americans.

If all it involves is Los Angeles getting a Birmingham post code and the DE Stand being renamed the Waldorf Salad Stand then I can't see what the problem is.

It may be just as unlikely but it's a far more comfortable rumour than the guff about Bryan Richardson.

Austerity Villa FC, blaming everything on the previous owners, slashing transfer fees and wages, leaving the youth team in a Wacky Warehouse, fuck that shit.

I'd hate us to become "America's football team in England".

I am prepared to allow Yanks to be known as "Brummie Wannabies" or California to be seen as a satellite district of Birmingham though.

I though California already was a district of Birmingham ??? Not far from Chad Valley ??

To be fair there are some things the club does over here which are great. For example on Spanish TV they have all the AVTV interviews plus Villas full game in HD every week (they use the full original high quality feed that the AVTV cuts up into crappy highlights for subscribers). They run that show twice a week. As far as I know Villa are the only club that do this.

Unfortunately the interviews are translated and then the full match is commentated by spanish commentators rather than subtitled so its pretty useless to english speakers. It has been running for two seasons now.

If fellow USA fans want it its on channel 458 Deportes for DirectTV but just do a search for Aston Villa weekly in your cable provider.

Tell em Aston hall is Downton abbey and Sean Bean is a Villan not a blade and that should do it

So what relevance does a bloke being 74 have to his suitability?

He's skint though, £200m net worth, I've nearly got that much.

If he is part of a group, does it matter? If they all have £200m each, no harm done. Keep Fox as CEO and we might just be ok.
