Remember when Ray Ranson wanted to buy us?  Those were the days.

Anyone caught up discussing Levy may have missed my point:  It's not what the individual 'daniel levy' has bought to spurs, it is the fat that an absent owner Joe Lewis has delegated autonomy to him.  I'm sure there are loads of egos in football who would love that power (plus Randy's current subsidy) to run a club.

I don't mind Randy living on a boat, sipping pina-coladas.  That is his choice, but he needs to ensure there is a structure in place that has authority to spend his cash (within parameters).  Look at Man City, they've poached the entire back room staff from Barcelona.  We keeping putting all our money on Red/black (MON/lambert) with no safety blanket in-between.

I agree completely and will always contend that if we were doing well nobody would give a shit whether Randy was perched up in the Trinity or watching via satellite from a Russian space station. As you point out there are lots of owners who don't go to games. It's how they have managed the business and who they trusted with their money that is most critical.

However, the club’s new chief executive, Tom Fox, said recently that Lerner had been re-energized in his love of the club and sounded like someone who bought it just last week, the Mail said.

“Randy Lerner just wants to come here as a fan and enjoy the experience and know that the club is generating pride for the people to whom it matters”, Fox said, according to the report.

Well, good fucking luck with that.

When I go to a game I buy a programme stick it in my pocket and when I get home I just put it with all the others without looking at what's between the covers.
I can't sleep tonight and I picked up the prog from Saturday and started flicking through it and lo and behold there's a photo of a Villa fan wearing the shirt holding a Sounders scarf above his head at a Sounders game. This just as Paul Allen's name starts popping up in connection with us.
Coincidence? Most probably. Or is it the clubs weird way of letting us know there's something in the wind?

Maybe if he tries that he'll realise that we badly need a change.

Come on then Randy, come and have a watch and see how enjoyable it is.

Well, Randy's doing better than me, because I have little 're-energized love for the club' in me.

Previously-linked billionaires have usually tweeted a denial by now haven't they?

Perhaps Mr Allen isn't very computer literate.

Now where did I put that TBAR password?

Lol... co founder of Microsoft, you are probably right.

His company have refused to comment haven't they?

I would be happy if someone just bought half  and agreed with Lerner to put a bit more in for transfers to try and formulate a strategic plan to move up the division in a smart way without blowing stupid money. A bit like the Chinese fella has bought 20% of Atletico and it gave us a bit more wriggle room than this constant message of being broke. I am not even sure if we are that broke any more.

I wonder how far the price of oil and gas has to fall before somebody raised the question of whether the clubs being bankrolled by energy oligarchs can continue spending on the scale they did when energy prices were at their peak.   Our billionaire owner seems to have very heat sensitive fingers.
