I hate to say anything positive about Spurs but the Joe Lewis > Levy > Football Man* (Arnesen/Comoli/Baldini) is one we could easily replicate.
If anythingRandy is currently more generous than Lewis.

* It's clear that they've never quite got the 'football' appointment right, but the structure itself looks good to me.

You mean the model where they have won next to nothing, spent shed loads of cash and had about 13 managers in ten years or whatever it is? I find Daniel Levy the epitome of smoking mirrors.

They may spend a lot, but it's all paid for, which is demonstrated by the fact (my recollection) they make a profit most years.  Therefore its a sustainable model which should not result in the retrenching that we've undertaken for the past 3/4 seasons.  I cannot stand the club but I think they're well run.

I don't think it is well run from a football side if they've won very little and they change managers every other year. And they got massively lucky with Bale, a player who was heading to Birmingham things were so bad. Nobody saw what was to become of him.

New owners don't necessarily mean new CEO. The new bloke won't be linked with Randy so he could stay on even if we had a new owner.

But only if the new owners wanted him.

They might want their own management structure in place. If you look at it from the point of view of this guy, I find it hard to believe he'd leave his very-high-up position at Arsenal to come here, if there was even the whiff of a chance of him being out on his arse in the near future due to events beyond his control.

This. Neither would he risk his reputation by coming to a club that is in decline or one without decent backing. I may be wrong but this indicates to me that there us serious money behind this move.

More money than is behind Arsenal?  I doubt it.  More so, any new/existing owner has given him more responsibility than he currently holds.  Either way his CV looks ideal.

Fox would be a win/win. He gets to advance his career and the club gets someone accustomed to winning (financially).

Be very happy with this appointment

I also saw Goldie Hawn once outside Selfridges getting into a posh black car. My mate shouted "Oi Oi Goldie" and she waved awkwardly. Not the best anecdote but one none the less. :)

Tom Fox, future Aston Villa CEO recently on commercial revenues at Arsenal...

Quote
“When I arrived at the club five years ago, we set out a plan to try to grow the commercial revenues of the club, and we’re incredibly pleased with where we are”, Fox told BleacherReport in a recent interview.
“In fact, we’re ahead of where we thought we’d be when we created that plan. From what we understand, our shirt sponsorship deal with Emirates is the second biggest in the game’s history. The kit deal with Puma we announced in January is the largest ever done in the game. So we’re ahead of schedule.”

It's all well and good talking about the biggest kit deal,in history.
But, it is Arsenal. Let's face it, had Paul Faulkner been there, he could have done the same deal.
On a completely different scale, but to the same end, PF also got us our biggest ever kit deal !

That said, I do welcome an appointment like Mr. Fox,  although I still wish there was a real 'football' man on the board.

If Randy has finally got his head (shit) together and is giving it another go, then fair play to him. As long as he really wants it then it really is a case of:-

WE GO AGAIN !!!

It's tough to play the party pooper in this situation, but this a good point and should help to keep everyone's expectations in check.

Sounds like a smart move, if like Paulie says, he can make the step up to a club with a place in the history of the game. Dread the prospect of the Sun and the Star juxtaposing his name with the word "Sake" but a good step in the right direction nonetheless. Well done Randy, thank you.

TBAR are claiming they called this. Proof? Well they said on 8th August that we had decided on a CEO. No names. #ITK

Fox will only be as good as the space and good intent afforded to him by the owner, and I presume that he would only make this move if he is assured of a supporting and ambitious boss.
Whether that is Lerner or his successor is neither here nor there right now.
