After Team America's outstanding efforts at the World Cup the USA finally get what football is all about.( About ******* time too.) Subsequently, it is now being suggested in various parts of the media that The Premier League is the global equivalent of the NFL which should now lead to a new influx of wealthy American owners on these shores.

Hopefully Aston Villa can be one of the first clubs to benefit from this possibility, either by means of a direct takeover, or by working even harder still to promote & sell our brand & image there, by the simple fact that we are already American owned & as such, ordinary every day Americans, can instantly identify, associate & affiliate their support with our team.

Surely we can tap into this burgeoning & exponential interest from Uncle Sam?

The bit that suprises me is that on July 6th you were advocating a takeover by the Americans and now there is no takeover.

Yes indeed. I posted that at a time that I seriously believed a take over was a possibility. Now I just believe that it is a ruse & provides a perfect & convenient masquerade for the club not to have to spend any serious money.

May be you will all eventually wake up to this or may be you won't.

Incidentally. If a take over did transpire I would be the first person onto this site to hold up my hands & say I got it completely wrong. I have absolutely no problem with that. My standards set for Aston Villa are winning the Champions League. That is the least I expect for this club. What standards are yours? Seeing us languishing & scraping around with the dead beats of the Premier League hurts like hell. So does poking around the back of the settee looking for a few coppers so that we can nail down some has been or never was.

If you're happy to accept this state of affairs & think things are going to get better soon then fine. Keep deluding yourselves & living in denial.

In the mean time try being a little more open minded & remember I can bite back too if deemed necessary.

And it's a bit rich accusing PWS of inhibiting your right to free speech, when in the post you've quoted, he's preserving it by refusing to reveal your alter ego, or your friend's user name, whichever is true.

Frankly don't care which of those two scenarios are true, although your posting style does ring a few bells, I'm just a naturally curious person.

What I do care about is your self righteous assertion that we're all a bunch of gits out to get you when you pitch up out of nowhere with some pretty off the wall points of view.

It's the internet equivalent of turning up at old fashioned local pub where you don't know anyone, picking an argument with the locals, then acting all hurt and offended when the bar staff ask you to pipe down a bit.

The alternative is that you're well known at said pub, having already got your marching orders, and have sneaked back in, wearing some dodgy disguise to see if you can get someone to start a fight so that you can play victim, presumably with the intention of getting the focus of your obsession in hot water.
