Lerner is also believed to have reassessed this summer's transfer budget and may provide further money to strengthen the squad, though it is unlikely to be more than £15 million on fees and wages.

I genuinely can't wait till he goes.

I'm filled with dread if Lerner can't sell quickly.

I think he feels the same ...

Where are they getting these figures from? It is £10m last week, £15m this. Go to sleep and wake up in a fortnight and it will £25m. Nobody knows so until the very we'll not know what the numbers actually were. So far nobody in the media has really been right about much as it relates to Randy Lerner.

Agree.
It's the same with players wages. Pure guesswork, and more than likely way off the proper figure. (Still way too much, though)

It's starnge that nobody knows anything relating to the inner workings of the club. When Lerner wanted to sell it was announced. No leaks. When we buy players it is a rumour on day 1 and dat 2 the sale is completed. The Roy Keane thing broke because I think it was thought it would add a bit of stabilitythat someone is coming in. Throughout Lerner's tenure rumour mills have gone into overdrive but no-one has had any facts until the club has dictated otherwise. With that in mind ther eis absolutely no way that we would have a 10m or 15m figure given to anyone to allow it to slip out. Unless we're putting it out there so Messi knows he can't hold us to ransom.

there's a simple answer to your 'leaks' question: Lerner doesn't know from one day to the next so how could leaks possibly come out?!

Only partially tongue in cheek.

Does anyone else think that Randy panicked when Faulkner said he was off, thinking that Lambert may have pulled the pin as well. I wouldn't blame Lambert, a poor squad,an owner that is looking to sell and very little money to spend. Why Keane would tie himself to this shambles is anyones guess.

I see James Nursey has given us his normal kicking in the press this morning with his 'happy you joined, Roy?' tagline to his article.

Not a fan of his tactics but you've gotta say that as a man and human being Lambert has really stood out during this shambles.

After the season ended, it was almost impossible to think Lambert would come out looking better than most in the post-season, but the situation has become such a bizarre circus that that is exactly what has happened.

I think Lambert's just desperate to make some kind of success out of this. He hasn't had any failings on his Managerial success as of yet, and he doesn't want to start now. Imagine how much credit he'd get if he can steer us to a top-half finish under the current restraints? I actually think that he's quite driven by this kind of challenge.

I don't really don't think the Chef Exc leaving makes that much difference to our plans.  We are working on a very tight budget until the new owner comes in anyway. It just means he needs replacing witch would happen when a new owner comes in anyway.

I like the way the press are trying to make out that Faulkner has suddenly quit and left us in the lurch. They love their crisis headlines.

Reclusive billionaire sports team owner, whose heart is in the right place, undergoes mid-life crisis and messy divorce, gradually descends into depression and possible madness, while a coterie of acolytes tiptoe around his increasingly bizarre actions, before gradually peeling off one by one as said billionaire's detachment from reality becomes more profound, leaving his sports team to spin wildly out of control like a shook bottle of Coca Cola, spraying misery, incredulity and desolation over a fanbase of thousands. Would make a great play.
