Why all the beef with Howard Hodgson? I get the arrogant part, surely he is just trying to do something.. It will all probably go nowhere but most on here are just cynical for the sake of it.

HH seems to have a reasonable 'fans level knowledge' of football.  And some of what he posts makes sense & rings true.  But ultimately, it seems to me that he's a moderately successful recruitment consultant & seemingly good networker who splashes a bit of money on hospitality at the Villa.

How this remotely qualifies him to 'lead' a consortium bid for the club I have absolutely no idea.  Am I missing something?

Why am I getting flashbacks of that wannabe new owner chap interviewed outside his semi detached house all those years ago?  Can't recall his name - Michael something? - beautifully described as a 'tyre kicker' by someone on here at the time.  This seems remarkably similar.

My beef with him is his personal axe to grind against Lambert, Faulkner and Lerner. He acted like a prat sending a letter to Lerner whining about Lambert then cried about it when he was no longer welcome in the directors box. Oh and he has this delusion he "speaks for the fans" which he fucking does not.

Outside of that he obviously is a Villa fan and seems like a nice enough chap.

Has the appointment of Keane mad it more likely / less likely or no difference to a new owner coming in?

It's nailed on now that a consortium of Larry Ellison, Bill Gates & Mark Zuckerberg will buy us, you heard it here first nailed on ITK right there.

Thanks Jon...I was a bit unsure for a minute there.

I have a 'fans level' knowledge of football. I've also spent 25 years telling a succession of the club's directors what they're doing wrong and how to put it right. I bow to no-one in my ability to get money out of Villa fans. I also know that if I got anywhere within sniffing distance of a position of authority I would have our support, in a matter of weeks, hankering for the good old days of Norman Smith.

I'd imagine most of the investment banker types will be Man Utd supporters so it can do us no harm. They'll be knocking one off at the thought of meeting our new Assistant Manager.
