That bloke on Howard Hodgson's twitter feed is partly right.

My turf accountant's sperm bank loans officer attended a séance last week and chatted to Robert Maxwell.

He reckons a consortium headed up by Gustavo Cisneros, Richie Neville from the pop band Five, his dad Michael Neville and that mystery bloke from twitter are set to tie a deal up on July 12th.  A good day to bury bad news.  Neville snr still believes he can turn the club around by 'utilising broadband.'

Lady Gaga and Madonna have been divesting their portfoliolios and are rumoured to be preparing a joint bid according to Elton John. Gaga's jetstream has been spotted in the skies over BHX and a Birmingham mystic has spotted Maddy's armpit hair in her tea leaves.
It's on chaps.

On a really positive note Miami Heat owner Micky Arison sold yet another tranche of Carnival shares yesterday & has now offloaded $490,000,000 in this past 3 months.

The financial pages of the Daily Telegraph have speculated for a while now that he is preparing a bid for Aston Villa.

I so hope this is true.

That's at least enough to buy the club AND a decent "number 10" as Lambert calls them.

The discussion on TBAR about this at the moment here:

http://bellsareringing.forumotion.com/t807p300-takeover-speculation

is beyond nuts. They're talking about how apparently "the board" "voted 55-45 against accepting an offer" from someone.

I don't want to sound cruel, but precisely how do they think the "board" of AVFC influences any particular sale?

There are four board members. How can they vote 55-45?

This has to be the most boring topic of the summer.  I don't see anything happening to at least August which means than Lambert will be in place for at least the start of the season.

But they are not though, are they?
They are discussing how stupid the claim is by someone on twitter that a UK consortium bid was rejected in that way.

I love this thread. It is Mike Leigh meets Tracey Ermin. Pure unadulterated creativity. You think something. You type it. You send it. I want J K Rowling and Villa Park to become Hogwarts Stadium. Failing her Kirsten Rausing presiding over Tetrapak Park would do. Fiction is so much easier to endure than the truth

I've mainly forgotten about it to be honest. The World Cup is a welcome distraction from it.

That's how I read it, too, andyh.
It's this Chris Barnes who apparently mentions the %
It appears to be rubbished on TBAR, too.

"Is this plank (Chris Barnes) for real? Saying club rejected his mates offer after 55% of the board voted no in favour of accepting the bid with 45% voting yes?"

I would imagine the decision to sell or not sell would come down to a single vote ...that of Randy.

The share transactions are in the public domain. I don't know about the 490m figure, though - whether it is accurate, I mean.
