Beckham has been knocked back with his Miami stadium plans.
How much is he worth again?
Victoria spending her Saturday afternoons savouring the delights of the Perry Bar One Stop is a delicious thought.

I also find that statement disturbingly meaningless.   It's either that the club has a policy of propagandizing everything which comes out of the club to generate a business as usual image to potential buyers or alternatively nobody at the club, including the owner, knows what is going on and they are making it up as they go.   It reminds me of a Mike Leigh play.   The principals have their roles but can say what they like.
But they have to do that, don't they? Otherwise the whole 'house of cards' of the public brand falls over.
I have no problem with all the corporate pr bullshit - that's what we face in all walks of life these days; and we've become inured to it.

The more concerning bit is your second point: that they're probably making it up as they go along.

This quote from Joe Cole is odd/interesting.  With our media people presumably telling the players what the 'message' it seems out of synch with the silence we're hearing elsewhere as it suggests some sort of clarity exists on what the future holds.  If taken on face value, exactly how do you imagine the conversation about the future went?  Why dwell on the future when the reality seems there is next to zero certainty about what is going on.

“This is a massive club and there’s a massive opportunity for the club to push on. That was the main factor.

"I spoke to the gaffer and we have similar views on football. He didn’t need to sell the club but he explained what the view is for the future and, like I said, that was the main thing. When I spoke to the manager I knew I’d be signing.”

I think you're reading too much into it. It's usual footballer jargon. If we'd had a good season he'd say something along the line of "I want to help the club keep progressing" Because we've been crap for 3 years he can't say that so it's "pushing on" instead.

It happens all the time.
Classic example:
Benteke, when asked who he admired in the Prem when growing up said 'Thierry(?) Henry' and that he followed Arsenal.
All of a sudden he's got no respect for Villa and he's only using us as a stepping stone to get to Arsenal.

Didn't he also say something along the lines of "no disrespect to Villa, but I would love to play for Arsenal", though?

After the bait-and-switch move that the owners of the Marlins pulled having received public funding and tax breaks for their new ballpark, there was no chance of Beckham getting approval for a soccer specific stadium.

Their is a piece in The Independent regarding Our takeover and The possible owner from Kazakhstan. The journalist in question is Russell Lynch.

Classic McGonagall. No rhythm, no metre, no metaphorical consistency, but more than made up for by the odd demonstration of factual accuracy.

yes its Mike's new play called Randy's Party, but without any of the comedy of Abigail's Party, leaving just the satire of an insanely inept American  boldly leaving the Shunamites to ape the manners, aspirations and social mores of the truly mega wealthy by buying an English football club whose proud tradition, pomp and circumstance acts as a metaphor for the decline of the British Empire,  with a strident punk soundtrack of existentialist angst replacing the benign smoothness of Demi Roussos.

Did you read A critical theoretic Marxist dialectical analysis of the World Cup song?

Funny Marx's name should crop up I had a Cambridge lecturer in the shop who is a Norwich fan. I thought until he said who he supported that his youth, erudition and football knowledge that it might be Monty. We discussed Lambert and agreed that Karl Marx's description of Napoleon III fitted our manager perfectly. Because he has done nothing he can claim to have done everything.
