Come on! Who hasn't thrown a party with 10 grand hookers for their mates on a luxury yacht these days?

I mean, obviously not this bloke as he was acquitted.

The finance journalist who wrote the article for the Indie, Lynch, has Tweeted that this is serious enough to have the Villa interested.

Would be great if he could send our forwards to a brothel - but I bet they would still have trouble scoring.

I bet Carew will try to get into our side again.

We've had days/weeks of doom and gloom because it looks like (to some) that no buyer will emerge.

Then a fairly credible report, i.e. the Independent suggests a particular name as the front runner of 6-8 interested parties, and (some) are full of woe because he might not be the kind of bloke you want to invite to tea or dating your sister - I know the orange tint is disturbing - but maybe we should calm down a bit.

I absolutely acknowledge that there are many people in the world I would not want to be custodian/owner of Villa, but I'm not yet ready to call for the club to fold on the evidence to date. A close examination of the background Chelsea's owner might make some/many feel uncomfortable, but many more do not care.

How many Villa fans would be concerned about some 'past indiscretions' of any new owner if the investment and general management of the club was 'good' - we will all have different views on how serious 'past indiscretions' might be and what represents 'good' in terms of investment and management.

Remember people - this fella being identified as 'front runner' might be a tactic by his own people to get him taken more seriously. He might be bottom of the list of likely contenders and looking to be higher up the pecking order.

Not yet time to panic people (in my humble opinion).

6-8 interested parties is good news, if true. It gives Lerner a number of choices - if he asked each for a short biog and to commit to a future investment plan and then we have a poll on here to decide, some would still not be happy with the outcome, but more to the point, that's not going to happen. UTV

Nobody is calling for the club to fold but when someone with as overtly dodgy a background as him is linked, it's hardly surprising people worry.

I'm sure Abrahmovich is no stranger to dodginess but I don't remember ever seeing his face on a "Russian Mafia" deck of cards, or being mixed up with 10k a night prostitutes.

Can't wait to see the new Cheerleaders!  If the football is still crap perhaps they will strip or pole dance to stop the crowd leaving early.

I'm drooling at the thought of all those fantastic Kazakh footballers he'll be able to attract to play for us.

Apparently the interested parties are

1 this guy
2. The Bhatti Brothers
3. The Comer Brothers
4. The Kumar Brothers
5. The Richardson brothers
6. BIHL Holdings

It's going to be tough to choose

What happened to the Mitchell brothers?! I thought they would have had this sorted.

Two pages back (384) DeKuip was suggesting we lock the gates if this fella takes over.

As for Abrahmovich, I've no idea how accurate it is but his wiki profile is more than 'colourful' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Abramovich. Allegations of bribery and blackmail, arrest for theft, and emerging as the winner in the 'Aluminium Wars' in which more than 100 people are believed to have been killed in gangland feuds over control of the lucrative smelters.

Yep, I wouldn't want to be owned by Abramovitch either. I want us to be successful as a football team, but it'll always be more important to me that the actual club not necessarily be on the side of evil. Randy may be many things, but he's not Abramovitch (or a Sheikh who throws his political opponents into jail then throws their lawyers in after them, for the crime of representing a client in law - not a nice guy).

I am with you on this.....

As someone who has spent the last couple of years tracking the relationship between the dodgy tax haven that is Cyprus and Central/Eastern Europe this potential buyer sets off so many warning bells in my head.

If you get past the salacious headlines about accusations that he acted as a high class pimp and dig deeper into the criminal morass that this man appears to wallow in - he cannot be construed as a suitable custodian of our club.

Just google 'Bayrock Organization' and 'Jody Kriss' to get an insight into what we are dealing with here.

We aint talking about a couple of carrier bags leaning on an MOT-failure Evo in a Balsall Heath carpark here. These tarts are classy - they even take their socks off and put their bags of chips down before getting down to business! You get what you pay for... or so i'm told!  ;D

I would want nothing to with either......Cyprus has been at the centre of money laundering/tax evasion routes between east and west sinse the 1990's
