Sadly the fact that they've been here a week and no-one has seen than on the tour of VP suggests they were here for other reasons.

Perhaps they're here to buy the Blues? He said he'd never buy a Premier League club?

Apparently Bloose takeover is imminent ..................Godzvilla!

"Birmingham City's parent company Birmingham International Holdings (BIHL) have today announced to the stock exchange a halt to trading in shares ahead of a 'price sensitive' announcement.

Trading was suspended at 0855 HKT (1.55am) ahead of the news which will affect the way the company is run.

It's likely that news of a potential takeover could be announced shortly with the identity of the preferred bidder being released "
It could also mean they have ran out of money and are going into Administration.

Merrill Lynch will surely have all the info on the club. You don't need to fly to Birmingham at all.

You don't think the buyer's lawyers would want to see VP and B6, and everything about Villa by their own eyes and talk to people face-to-face before they strike the deal so they're not getting screwed?

When you buy a house, you're gonna go through it first to see it by yourself and get moist-tests etc. done so there wouldn't be any surprises.

They want to do the same with Villa, if B6 and Villa Park is valued...say 50 million altogether in the deal, they want to see them to make sure they're not overvalued in the books they've been given.
Google maps Streetview ?

Not a chance. We're talking a £200m deal here, the cost of sending a team over to inspect the properties properly is peanuts by comparison.

I'm not saying that they're here for that reason but I'd be worried about their commitment/methods if they were happy to buy an asset of £200m off the internet.

It's a business investment. The only thing that matters to them is whether the figures add up.

That's what the Germans thought when they bought Mr burns' nuclear power plant.

It amazes me that people are bothering to post in the transfer thread at the moment.

If Randy stays its likely to be Wesley and how the hell do you predict for a new owner?

Its hard enough to find something to talk about (other than Londonboy) in this thread.

Maybe the news of Lerner wanting to sell got leaked to the press and therefore he had to release a statement before the news broke ? Maybe it was leaked from an internal source(s)?

I know what you mean. Each to his own and what not, but I find it hard to think about transfers this summer when we have a much bigger issue waiting to be sorted out.

That makes no sense. Not what you said but doing it that way. Remember he issued a statement a month before issuing one that said the club is for sale. So at which point the leak was a threat?

In fairness to TBAR they were talking about a takeover which suggests some sort of news had broken out. Add the lambert comments about things going on behind the scenes and I guess randy was anticipating/experiencing the speculation increasing.

I don't really understand the 'Randy is a dick for saying we're up for sale if nobody's in negotiations' thing.

If I were a billionaire with holding-on-to-it issues (and with the help of the Lord I'll get there one day), I don't think it would make an iota of difference whether I was given the glad eye by BAML or just read a statement about the intention to sell in a newspaper. I'm not going to pay a penny more than I need to just because I've been given the nod by a prick with a big knot in his tie.

Does anyone want a pound?

We should all chip in and buy it, however we'd get through a lot of managers

I don't think so Phil.  We'd never be able to agree on which one to appoint.

Ads on a Pardew esque 10 year deal. Sorted. i'd back us to only lost 3-0 aggregate in the two Manchester away games anyway.
