Me too. I take it all back. I never meant those things about you being a Wide Boy. You're narrow, if anything.

Come back, London Boy!  We'll set you up on with a nice little houseboat  in Bartley Green Reservoir where you can play with your submarine and entertain admirers.

too good looking for Milan. Back on topic, any ideas who was behind the mooted failed takeover? lots of chat that it was an Arab bid fronted by a European. A friend heard whispers that was true, and that it was being co-ordinated by Guido van der Kamp. Could that be the rather androgynous figure in the picture? Or his sister Claudia van der Kamp?

Any relation to Bree van der Kamp out of Desperate Housewives?

TBAR is the place to find out.   Eastie says Kamp has a business partner Ollie Gee.

I see the Villa website is trying to sell season tickets by pushing the deadline. I honestly cannot understand why anyone would want to buy a ticket just yet, without seeing how the preseason pans out. I get the loyalty thing but would really like to see before I buy. Surely Randy would expect that too? And the club will be delighted to stoke up any transfer speculation so it looks like we are 'in the market'.

Mate of mine lived in Mincing Lane, Bell End.

It was murder for him to get taxis as they all thought he was taking the piss and wold drive off. In the end he'd get taxis to about 10 minutes away from his house and walk the rest of the way.

Is that in Blackheath? There is a Bell End in Blackheath

Not sure, it was somewhere in Yam-Yam land.

My now deceased first boss lived at No 69 Mincing Lane, Bell End in Rowley Regis.

One day not long after I'd first started as a very green 16 year old, we were discussing where we lived. Alan mentioned Mincing Lane, and when I asked where that was and he replied Bell End I nearly pissed myself laughing. I couldn't resist asking if he lived at No 69 and couldn't believe it when he said "How the bloody hell did you know that?", completely missing why it was funny.
