It's only fair to have it be based on market value, which means we could cite the recent deal (18months ago but still valid) between Arsenal and Emirates wich was £30m a year for the stadium and shirts.  I have no idea what we're getting for Dafabet but I reckon switching us to a deal more inline with that Arsenal one would make up well over half of the difference straight away.

A fair few clubs are trying to design multi functional stands which double as music venues etc.  If we built a new North Stand it would be the ideal opportunity to attach such a facility, then you'd have X band/theatre at the Barclays Stand Villa Park.  I'm not exactly convinced that a music venue is the way to go (how successful was the leisure centre?) but something which would give the stand an identity other than football could justify naming / sponsorship deals greater than we could currentiy achieve.

For me whats really "funny" is watching how utterly petrified and straight up jealous some of the other forums..(including the one you came from aka H&V) have acted towards this site even though it's still in it's infancy  Laughing . I mean go on both of the two "main" forums and you'll see "tbar this, tbar that"..why so obsessed? if it's as big a "joke" as some of you believe it to be why talk about it and go out of your way to sign up?  Rolling Eyes the bottom line is those forums can't handle being outshined..and that's what's causing members from each forum to be negative and want to throw stones if someone here posts something that doesn't come to pass.

In closing i want to appeal to the sensible members here and say that we must not let other forum's envy ruin this place...yes there's been some setbacks but we've got a good thing going here and long may it continue....people aren't talking about this forum 24/7 for nothing.

Perhaps I'm mentally unbalanced but I have faith in Lerner in all of this.

If we are not going to be taken over before the season starts, I think we'll see the same kind of outlay as the previous couple of years - not a vast amount of money but enough to keep us plodding along.
He has much more to lose if he abandons the club completely.

I think the Lambert decision was his only option (other than putting Cowans in charge)
