I used to play football with some of the BBC lads at Birmingham Uni about 10 years ago, and Dan was a good player.

The other one though, Steve Clamp, was absolutely the worst footballer I've ever seen. You couldn't try to be as ungainly, it would be physically impossible.

Met Dan a few times at The Hollow Bottom in Guiting Power when he's been reporting on the Cheltenham Festival. Tbh he talks out of his some of the time and on race days wears a very silly hat as a sort of visual shorthand to remind people he's in the  horsey folk. Nice bloke off camera and to be fair his was the world's most obvious tweet.
