But, given how the bomb squad have been treated, will they be motivated enough to want to play for Lambert again? What a complete mess.

N'Zogbia and Bent would be useful if we had a new manager. Still, not worth their wages though. But, we'd struggle to sell them.

Yes that's a problem. The only thing we can hope for is that if they get the chance, they'll all play for a move elsewhere. I don't think there'd be any problem with Given, if McGrath forbid Guzan got injured.

I'd take Given over Steer any time.

                               Guzan
Hutton          Vlaar.           Okore          Bennett
          Delph.        Westwood      El Ahmadi
                              Nzogbia
                   Benteke.        Bent

Still not a great side, even with the bomb squad back in. At least four new players required.

weak at full back and no real goal threat from centre midfield.

It's still pretty poor. I think letting Albrighton go at this point is an error too. He's not on huge wages and I think giving him another 1-2 year deal would be beneficial. Even with a takeover we can't make too many signings in one go, and Albrighton is still one of our best players.

Bench would look stronger though, Given, Gabby, Andi, Kozak Bacuna, Clark, Lowton and no place for Baker, Helenius, Luna, Tonev, Steer, Stevens, Bowery and Sylla, nevermind the kids like Grealish and Robinson.

Disappointing news, was hoping that the new owner would be from somewhere different, I'm so bored with the USA.
Booooooored of the USAaaaaA! Springsteen style.

Now you're being silly.

I'm not down on the situation. I just heard on Capital Radio that whoever takes us over will want complete control. Until then the lads will have to train in vain until we find a new manager with the right profile.

Is Steven's out of contract this summer, or next I wonder. Surely he couldn't be any worse than Bennett or Luna.

Could we have less, i.e. NO use of "LOL" on this forum please?

LOL
Surely you mean lol and not LOL.

I think Lerners given up the ghost completely. If we don't sell we're fucked. Lambert will be kept on, given no additional help (that he sorely needs) and we'll be missing our best player for almost half the season.
I would hope that if we're unable to do any deals in the window, then Lambert will be allowed to re-instate some of the bombers back into the squad. If we have to sell anyone, we should be looking to get rid of the likes of Sylla. How much Lambert genuinely had to do with the bomb squad is anyones guess but surely we're better off using the likes of Given, Zogbia, Bent and at a push, even Hutton.

There must be an extra 7-8 million or more in the wage budget and 15-20 for players considering the players gone, and the increased income.

Hopefully any prospective buyers will turn up in their brand new cadillac and decide villa is a safe European home for their investment.
