If the CEO and the manager don't know what's going on then I very much doubt The Torygraph do.

We're in for a few weeks (at least) of this I'm afraid.

I remember reports saying that the Lerner takeover had collapsed, then with a week he was the new owner.

What a shower we are.

Because of one newspaper report?

John Percy's a pretty cautious reporter. Fair enough, I overreacted there (though you can't deny we are something of a shower in general at the mo), but this is worrying.

It's a report based on speculation. There will be dozens before the matter is concluded.

Well I hope you're right. Looks to me more like a report based on information gleaned, rather than speculation, but nobody knows all of what's going on so we shall see.

'Gleaned' is probably the right word. A smidgen, or possibly a soupcon, of truth and a whole lot of speculation.

Which will end in disappointment. We are like a bluebottle on a hot summers day caught between the window glass and the net curtain

Do they have ITK 'special' hand shakes as well?
Don't mention sheikhs  as they could be our new owners.

I wouldn't give Lambert a fiver to go down the shops. Why on earth would Lerner give him any money? Don't believe a word of that.

I know he works for thesun but Charlie Wyatt is the one that 1st broke the takeover story in Feb, way b4 any forum, but today he has had tweets from a lot of journalists apologising and congratulating him for getting it ALL right. Since then he has said the info he has been given from the same people who told him in Feb have said deal is going through and won't be too long to conclude.

Maybe bullshit but he seems convinced and even the famous kiss-ass Nursey said he was right the 1st time.

Telegraph reporting no deal on table after talks with prospective buyers collapsed ..Lambert to be given funds but has to clear players he brought who arnt playing.

So the Telegraph know what Lerner well tell Faulkner and Lambert before they do?

It makes sense to me that Lerner might release funds. As has been said he needs to protect his investment.

The next few days should tell us a lot,if Lambert returns from the States with a brief to plan for next season in any way shape or form then I would be very concerned. Lets hope he,'s clearing his desk instead.

I can't see why Lerner would not give a token 15 million plus sales and contract renewals for example. The TV money is significantly more, and if Lambert has the room to manoever a couple of players in then it could be beneficial.

New contracts for Delph, Albrighton, Vlaar and Robinson first up. Lescott and Barry in on free transfers. Then a couple a midfielder and a forward and we would be comfortably safe next season most likely even on a modest spend.

This would sit fine with me.
