Again, the Arabs at Man City aren't doing it to promote Abu Dhabi or Etihad, nor as a rich man's plaything. They're doing it for legitimacy, and it's a long term investment, similar to Abramovic's at Chelsea. Neither are going anywhere soon.

Whoever they may be, the Americans will almost certainly have different motives. The way I see it, they're looking to exploit the huge, untapped, and growing market for 'soccer' in the US. That makes Villa a very attractive prospect.

There's no London premium to pay; the non-playing infrastructure is first-class - with room for growth; the city of Birmingham is a plus-point (the Americans don't share the one-eyed anti-Brum agenda of the UK press); the catchment area for support is huge, as is the potential for growth; the brand is already strong - the name Aston Villa is fantastic, there's the history (which Americans love), plus the future King of England supports the club; it's the biggest club for miles around and it's already in the Premier League.

These are all reasons why they might prefer Aston Villa over Leicester City if you were looking for relatively quick, then long-term success.

If you look at what Man City's owners have done, it's not just about money, money, money, they are building for the future, the investment locally has been immense as well as what they have put into the team. It seems like there will be a long-term future for their club.

Lerner has attempted the same for us, it's just a shame it hasn't worked for him (and he hasn't anywhere near the sort of disposable cash they have obviously).

Beswick around the ground has seen an awful lot of money pumped into it.

Not that Leicester City would need them anyway it appears.

What is the name of the Saudi Prince who is rumoured to be a Villa fan (was shown around BMH a couple of years ago)?
Mohammed.

Prince Sultan bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Kabeer to give him his respectful title

If you look at the potential for worldwide recognition and growth, Aston Villa and Birmingham are up there with the best when it comes to potential to be the big worldwide known entities. Our club has very rich history which can be used, our crest is recognizeable and colour scheme is eye catching...also "Second City of England" does have a very nice ring to it.

Some english fans among us might have slightly coloured view of things given how Birmingham and Aston Villa are treated in english media, but with right PR and investments, we'd be seen much more positively outside of UK too.

New posters claiming this sort of ITK usually sets off my internal bullshit warning klaxon, and this time is no different.
