The stuff from the national media about us that annoys me most:

- when they imply that we drove out MON
- when they imply that we drove out Houllier, rather than the congenital heart condition he suffers from putting him in hospital
- when they imply that the main reason we hated McLeish was where he came from, rather than his record of shite football and relegations, not stopping to think that if he was a decent manager, the fact we'd taken him from there would be a POSITIVE, not a negative.
- when they bang on about how we're fickle, without mentioning the immense support Lambert got for a poor return on his first season.
- when they will say stuff which totally ignores the facts - "Lambert has done a good job there", for example, without mentioning the vast array of records for shitness he has broken, like the more home defeats than any season since we were formed.

Stamp that on Tim Lovejoy's smug old boatrace, so when the sumg tosser wakes up it's the first thing he sees.   I assume he has a full length mirror on the ceiling.  He seems the kind.

Second thing. This should always be the first. http://www.wsc.co.uk/the-archive/42-Media/145-no-love-no-joy

It is understood that there is genuine interest in Villa, including in America, but nothing to suggest that the club will change hands quickly.

All of which leaves Lambert in a state of limbo, unsure whether he will hold on to a position that was already looking precarious after another hugely disappointing season, and what transfer activity, if any, can go ahead at Villa Park during the period when the club is for sale but not sold.

The Villa manager will hope to get answers to those questions and more during a meeting with Lerner in New York. Lambert was planning to attend the club's end-of-season awards dinner before then but that event, scheduled to take place on Tuesday night, was cancelled on Monday after Villa decided that the combination of a poor season and Lerner's decision to sell made it nigh on impossible for the evening to go ahead.

It seems almost inevitable that Lambert, who has 12 months remaining on his contract, will move on as and when Villa is sold but nothing can be said for certain at this stage and within the club all eventualities are being considered, including the possibility that a takeover will not be completed this summer. Lerner clearly hopes that will not be the case after coming to the conclusion that the time is right to get out.

So after reading the Doug comments I am scared as hell. I think he and SGT in fact know bugger all. So in fact Lerner is indeed being honest. The club has just gone up for sale. No sugar daddy lined up and a spending freeze as we sit in limbo.

There is a deal going on right now, which is good for Villa but I know nothing about it.
Further...lots of stuff.

Investment Bankers would have been appointed some time ago, Lerner would not have come out with the last 2 statements if there had not been genuine progress and that there are at least 2 runners or a deal very very close to completion. Heads of terms agreed subject to Diligence and PL survival.

What is happening God only knows, but what really stuns me, is this blind faith that Randy will do nothing to hurt us as a business entity, because he is such a good business man.
This is the man that for 8 years has stubbornly refused to put any football nous onto the board, gave free reign to pube head to bring in players on wages that the club could not sustain against turnover, looked to reign in the spending, but still allowed money to be wasted on total garbage that goes to make up the current worst squad that we have had at Villa Park for many a year, had us battling against relegation for the last 4 years, made a managerial appointment that many would have totally believed impossible, but still went ahead and did it, but let us not forget we linked up with Acorns( yes a very good gesture and no more worthy cause), we are firstly a football club and a business, we have not been run like one for the last 8 years.
Also I know he is a director of the club, but I am totally amazed that GK could tear himself away from his new found love of colleges, to make a statement, that by the way makes no fucking sense at all, yet has remained silent since he ran away from here when the going got tough and it managed to get through our highly sharp PR man.
Thanks Randy, but please turn the light off on your way out of Villa Park, oh sorry you cant you forgot where the place is, tell you what get your flunky Faulkner to do it.

What the hell does GK mean by this
"What's more, this country is in a time of great flux on many levels and he may make himself available for a role on some level"
Which country? What level?

all Putin would have to do was join a forum and insult Randy or his career that seemed to upset the General (Not that I agreed with insulting Mr Krulak)

I've got the horrific thought of a summer checking the internet every few hours.

So far I think I'm completely none the wiser as to what the fuck is going on.

Doug probably put in a sell on clause. As a former small shareholder I might be entitled another fiver  ( and Doug another million ).

The Birmingham Mail trying to sell a few papers today!

Oil tycoons are thought to be the most likely new owners of the club
Aston Villa could become the next Manchester City – with oil-rich Arabs tipped to bring the glory days back to Villa Park.

Football finance expert Peter Knowles forecast that Randy Lerner could easily attract bids of between £200 million and £250 million from super-rich investors, desperate to break into the Premier League elite.

The US billionaire put Aston Villa up for sale yesterday following his near £63 million takeover in 2006.

In statement, he said: “I owe it to Villa to move on, and look for fresh, invigorated leadership, if in my heart I feel I can no longer do the job.

“I can see now that it is time, if possible, to hand these privileges and responsibilities to the next person or group to take the club forward.’’

Lerner has put the sale of the club in the hands of Bank of America, Merrill Lynch.

There have been no confirmed interested parties, but a number of wealthy Americans have been linked to a possible buyout this summer.

Yet stockbroker Mr Knowles predicted fierce interest in Villa from the oil-rich Middle East. And that could spark a Manchester City-style resurgence – which saw them win the Premier League on Sunday.

“If you have got somebody out there with a pot full of money that really wants to buy a Premier League club and has got the funds to do so, then you can effectively buy the League,’’ said the soccer finance expert.

“I heard that there was a potential American bid but it is far more likely to be from the Far East or the Arabs. The Arabs would be able to pay for it because they have got so much oil money. Or it could be the Far East, Singapore or Malaysia, somewhere like that.
