Of all the possible outcomes, that's somewhere in the middle.

It would be a disaster as he does not even have close to enough to buy the club back, let alone fund it the way it needs.

Interesting read, copied from AVillafan.com.
This chaps from the US, so maybe he has a bit more credibility.

"People need to quit buying into the nonsense about Larry Ellison. No f**cking way this dude is buying Villa. It's just an easy name to throw around by lazy ass WUMs.

The guys on FB and twitter pumping this bullshit are also saying Klinsmann will be next manager. More horseshit. It took the jaws of life to get him off the beaches of Southern California just to coach the US NT. Now they think he will just up and move to Brum?

The fact that they are saying it's been reported on US radio is the clincher that this bullshit is coming from an English source. Radio is a f**cking dead medium in the US. It's the end of the line for "breaking news". More popular and relevant in England. News in the US hits the internet first. With all the controversy surrounding the NBA LA Clippers, and the CONFIRMED rumors of Ellison trying to buy them, it would absolutely have been reported by US sources if there was a deal in place to buy Villa. But not on the radio.

Just pray that it not the former Fulham owner. He and Lerner are friends, he cashed in on Fulham when he sold them, and i could definitely see Lerner selling a controlling share as opposed to 100% which is how he initially sold the Browns.

I'm hoping for Philip Anschultz. He's got money, has an interest in football, and has practically built MLS. With FFP rules, a sugar daddy isn't realistic. Give me a guy who has proven the ability to build a football product. Don't know that it will happen but he'd be my clear #1 choice."

That is interesting and probably more sensible than any of the other rumours/guesses we've heard so far. Though I don't think there's a chance in hell that we'd let Mo Al-Fayad anywhere near the club. We'll take the MJ statue though, because it's obviously a good luck charm.

I don't buy the Ellison pap either, but I cannot take a man seriously who fails to capitalise his I and uses a phrase "build a football product".

He should have said "soccerball product."

Is he saying that because we still listen to radio we're a backward nation?

Would it really be that bad if Randy was joined at the club by Mr Al Fayed? As long as he invests and the team get sorted? Oh, and that Michael Jackson statue stays well away from VP. Randy has done a lot for the club despite some poor decisions. Clubbing resources can't be a bad thing surely?
