We went from:

O'Neill - 1970s football
Houllier - skill-based stuff
TSM - 1870s football
Lambert - who knows?

While also considering: Martinez - football from today; OGS - football from somewhere; McLaren - football from underneath a brolly.

I still think the announcement will be investment and a management re-structure to include a DOF.

And if we get MON back again we can pretend it's 1996.

Lerner wouldn't issue a statement to say he's going to give the manager more money, he'd just do it.

He also specifically said he'd address the question of his ownership.

I guess the obvious point is that if he had no intention of selling, he'd just have said that straight off.

These very points, plus my belief that announcing he wants to sell but hasn't yet found a buyer would be daft, are the reasons why I voted 'I've flogged it'.

I think that rather than announce we're for sale, he'd just appoint an agent like Rothschild's on the quiet like.

I hope so, but I do wonder about Randy's business sense sometimes.

So what happened with the Cleveland Browns?  Did Lerner announce that they'd been put up for sale or did he just sell them and then announce it? And if it was the latter why should it be any different with Villa?

Right up until he'd found a buyer Lerner and everyone at the Browns denied that the franchise was for sale. This is much more what you'd expect from Lerner than essentially putting up a 'for sale' sign. But who knows - maybe he's been trying to sell it like that for ages and has just decided to take a more desperate step.

Maybe the announcement will be that the Browns have traded Johnny Manziel to Villa.

I really hope we are being sold we need a major overhaul of the whole club we're just drifting aimlessly along, there doesn't seem to be any plan whatsoever.  I think the next few weeks will have a big impact on our future if we aren't being sold I think next season we will go down and that team will not bounce straight back.

Interesting that both Faulkner and Lambert are in the dark when Randy tells us that they talk "every day". The other comment I wonder about is the "this week I have seen such loyalty to Aston Villa". Are they connected in some way? The suspense is killing me!

You have to be really really bad to go down though

I mean we apparently have the worst squad for 50 years,
we went on a 5 game losing streak right at the end of the season,
we have a clueless manager with bully boy coaches who no one likes,
pay peanuts wages for shit players,
all are best players have long term injuries
an owner that never comes and doesn't care anymore

Yet still we stay up with games to spare

It makes you wonder how much more we can do to make ourselves any rubbisher to try and get over the line next time

Randy will announce we have bought the Michael Jackson statue, thus assuring Premier League survival.

Job done.

Only at a club like ours would we get a statement from the owner to announce a statement will be forthcoming at the end of the season.
I suspect it won't be Monday aswell.
