Hi to all, first time poster here, The thing that is concerning me is no media have got hold of any real meat of who is supposed to be buying us, if a deal was so close or sealed i can't believe no journo or media outlet wouldn't have some info on this story by now?

True, but we do know that Randy operates unbelievably secretively. Nobody knows anything until it happens with him, by and large.

Maybe but there was little media noise when RL bought us, its the way he does things.

Ps and welcome.

That is a fair point, he is private plus being over in the US he could negotiate a deal without knowledge of it happening over here, cheers for the welcome Peter.

How much news was there about im selling the browns before the official announcement?  I seem to remember it all happened pretty quickly once it was official, not much over a month as far as I remember.

There wasn't even much of it in the news here when he bought us.

We were all a bit depressed seeing that Michael Neville lived in a semi detached house when boom, in came Randy.

This is a bit of a bump from a rumour posted earlier today, but can somebody tell me how Lerner is selling a football club the size of Aston Villa without his CEO realising it?

Yeah I remember that, I was just trying to think back to the closest example in the browns, the issue is I don't pay much attention to american football so I really don't know how big a surprise it all was.

If i remember correctly there were strong rumours surfacing in the months leading upto the eventual sale of the Browns but the CEO figure representing the club was strongly denying it, the bam the sale happens Randy announces it to the media and fans, sounds familiar but no denial as we have had rumours of Randy wanting to sell us hmmm,

Here is a link to how the Browns sale panned out:-

That's very interesting. There was the denial in February when The Sun claimed we were being sold and Faulkner contradicted this. Certainly this is how Lerner operated towards the end of his Browns tenure, but who knows what that means he'll say this time.

He's developed a secret backward way of talking every time Paul Faulkner comes into the room.

Its driving Faulkner mad.

I think there's going to be some disappointment next week. We'll probably announce a new partnership deal / shirt sponsor / stadium renaming  and Lambert will sign a new contract.

You are probably right.

NOT!
Everything points to 'something different'.

I reckon Randy has sold to a buyer who has also bought Small Heath.
From the beginning of next season, we are cheering for Birmingham Villa, playing in 2 years time at the AEG arena next to HS2 .

I have an inkling you may be wrong Silhill. I think something of major importance will be announced at Villa Park next week.
