In my humble opinion there is not a chance he will have assisted in the build up of hysteria about a statement about more of the same.

I also think that there isn't a chance he will say the club is for sale to a willing buyer.  There aren't any stockmarket rules anymore so timing of this would not have been an issue.

As everyone knows, Randy conducts business deals in secret, did anyone have wind of the Browns sale?  Just asking because I don't remember seeing anything although admittedly coverage of that would of course have been US biased.

So, I think it will be one of two things.

1. Significant additional investment with him still at the helm.
2. An outright sale where exchange and completion was only going to happen once our future revenue streams were assured.

This is a view, not a fact, and I remain open to be totally and utterly ridiculed if it doesn't happen.

I think it's just as likely that the reduction of the wage bill was key to selling the club as anything else. As someone else said on here, it's almost like doing some work on the house to help it sell. Think of it as replacing the guttering and fixing some damp, doesn't add value but does get rid of a massive problem on the survey (due diligence). Even with some of the bomb squad still about we're self sustainable right now, so no one has to take on debts before they're through the door.

I agree with that.  Any money spent from now will have pretty much instant benefits whereas if we'd continued to plough money into the club there would be more players on expensive wages that would be expensive to pay off.  A good example is Jean Makoun, who may have been a useful player for Houllier but was surplus to AMc's requirements.  Ditto the Manager - Lambert has a year left so is relatively cheap to pay off.

Put simply, there are not many players left so it's a pretty clean slate for anyone coming in.  Add in the extra TV money and the club should have some scope to move regardless of what any new investor donates.

But I think he can get 3 and 4 anyway without making a big announcement about it.  3 admittedly would be worth an announcement but would anyone care given todays modern age?

I am not interested in a "for sale" notice. The chances of a better owner coming in are worse than 50/50.

he either makes a new commitment, or announces a sale is to to be completed to buyers of substance, nothing less will do.

Randy is making some kind of statement next week. Where is it likely to appear first? The official club site/Sky Sports News or a press conference? Any idea's on this one?

Got some ITK from someone high up at the club that Randy isn't selling up but is in fact about to announce a significant investment aimed at securing long-term success.

He's bought the lucky Michael Jackson statue off Al Fayed.

Exactly as I see it at the moment, from a position of zero insider info.
He's not a guy who makes statements to the press and the fans very often and the fact that he has signposted the fact that he is going to do so is significant.
I cannot imagine he is not going to make some substantial statement about the club (as opposed to simply an announcement of Lambert's future).

Like I said a few pages back, I'm more and more convinced that the announcement is going to be an enormous disappointment. The idea that it's going to be some super-billionaire from the United States who, of all the things he could do, has decided to buy a terribly underperforming soccer team in the English West Midlands is phenomenally unlikely, when you think about it. Why on earth would they do it?
