I hope what you've heard is correct MM, provided the new owner does respect the traditions of Villa and is responsible.

If Lambert really is in the dark about the statement then it is a shocking way to treat a senior employee of the club in my view, whatever else I think about his qualities.

Agree, it's also not good for the supporters to be kept in the dark. There needs to be greater transparency. Lerner is odd in that he never wants to connect with the fanbase. If Doug had been in charge he would have got severe stick after the last 3 or 4 years dross. By not being at any home matches, Lerner escapes any criticism.

Heard last night, the club is sold and Jurgen Klinsman is to be our next manager

The Team at Bodymoor Heath also seem to think this but really no one knows anything not even Paul Faulkner .

How, on gods green earth, could the club have been sold, and Paul Faulkner, the CEO, not know about it ?

Maybe he knows but isn't talking in fear of the leaks?

Hi All, lurked for a while, time to join in.

Klinsmann was mentioned on another site with a credible source, and I also heard last week that the deal was being done above PF's head...

this just confirms what I was told

Klinsmann down from 6/1 to 5/1 at Paddy Power, joint favourite with Di Matteo.

David O Leary still out at 50/1.

I've just put a monkey on Steve Bruce.

Still can't tell them apart.

Much as I'd like to believe it, does any realistically expect Jurgen Klinsman to walk out on the US national team, in a World Cup year, after recently signing a contract extension to 2018, to join us????

I know contracts can be broken, and he wouldn't necessarily have to rock up in B6 until August.....but c'mon, get realistic.

Is this the same MysteryMan who told us that under no circumstances would Alex McLeish join the club?

He's been managing the US for 3 years. I guess how they do in the WC could influence any deal between ourselves, Klinsmann and the US side, to suit all parties.

That said, at club record he's only had one season and his record wasn't brilliant given that he was at Bayern. He's done good work at the National level but it's a different kettle of fish at club football. He is a big name though and commands a lot of respect. He's certainly the level of profile that would be good at this club. It would be a risk though.

No he didn't; that one was from a lot closer to here. His stuff is right more often than it's wrong though.
