I doubt we're being taken over to be honest. I would love it to be true, provided any prospective owner was a 'good' owner. However I just don't see why anyone would want to pay £200-250 million for the club and then have to invest heavily on top of that to get us anywhere near the top 6.

They seem to be enjoying themselves so let them get on with it, they don't like doomsayers over there so it's not for me, first game at Villa Park was about sixty four or five years ago so the pessimism is ingrained and i'm far too old to change. can i be the first to say i don't like the new owner.

Nope. You can't. I want to be.

I am with Paul though, I just don't see it happening.

354

Thankyou. Now picking number 354 off the Forbes' list of 400 Richest Americans, I can exclusively reveal (with a little help from Ozzjim) that our new owner is...

Alfred James Clark. Construction and real estate magnate with a personal wealth of $1.5 billion.

That won't last long, why couldn't you have picked a lower number?

No they love him over there after they won the Champions League Final on Saturday.

Sorry, that should say marginally out-performed Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

On past experience that would be "Clarke out."

Still not sure why a 74 year old with the number of interests he has would spend a disproportionate amount of money on Villa. There are better options in all reality.

I think I'm right in saying that when Randy first took over the club, one of his non-executive directors (Michael Martin, maybe?) had links with AEG, which was widely thought to have been the driving force behind the good deal we got out of Nike?

Could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain I remember something along those lines.

Bob Kain, the CEO of IMG and Michael Martin from Brooklyn Holdings were directors.
