Hopefully whatever happens it'll happen soon. When Randy took over and we got O Neill it all happened quite late leaving no time for O Neill to really change much of the squad. We managed to get Stan in pretty much last minute that window. That said he inherited a squad that was much better than what we currently have.

If a deal is going to happen I hope it moves quickly so we can get a new manager in and give him enough time to bring in signings and work with the squad in pre-season. We don't want a new man starting his tenure with the current squad. It's a long time to wait until january.

I agree if it's happening getting it done fast would be best especially if bringing a new managerial team in too.

I think the amount of people in the know elsewhere is incredible at the moment and creating excitement that I really hope is not false for people. I hope Monday is not simply a for sale sign going up.

One scenario could be a mega bucks 50/50 silent partner coming in with Randy staying on in a 'chairman/custodian' role.
And with some major changes including a 'football man' to liaise between the board and the new manager/coach. With Paul Faulkner staying on to oversee the commercial and community activities of the club.
Not saying that's what I want, just throwing it into the mix.

Randy has been a failure. Why would anyone want to keep him on in a role? Club nice but dim guy? Kid in a sweet shop for 3 years throwing cheques around left, right and centre and then fucking us up for the next 4 years to claw back the mistakes. We haven't signed a Premier League player for over 3 years under him.

Faulkner can piss off aswell, our revenue last season was lower than it was 5 years ago, plus the dickhead was one of the chuckle brothers who thought Mcleish, Hutton, Ireland et al we're good business deals for the club.

I was thinking this the other, has Lambert signed any players permanently from other Prem clubs?

This did occur to me but I thought it unlikely because Lerner is hardly ever at Villa Park. If he was like Doug and came to nearly every game then maybe this could be the arrangement.

Fair to say if we have another close season of untried lower league and foreign players we'll more than likely go down then.

They're naming Philip Anschutz on TBAR. Well, one of them is anyway.

Still not sure why a 74 year old with the number of interests he has would spend a disproportionate amount of money on Villa. There are better options in all reality.

Everything appears to be guesswork at best right now. Google billionaire and throw darts. Eventually one will hit a target. Whoever takes over is going to have to somewhat minted in that they have to pay off Randy and then one would assume wants to win football games, which in our case will require substantial investment over a number of windows.
