Can we please call the thread: What We Talk About When We Talk About Takeovers

Or, "We Need to Talk About Anschutz"
Leave Anne Schultz out of this.

Banana? So, is it the jungle? But it's two bananas. Two bananas. 2 b's. What does that sound like? Toupes? Teepees? Who lived in Teepees? Red Indians on the plains of the United States. And the jungle? No, it's the desert. Oregon, in particular and a trail. Full of lonesome pine. Pine rhymes with mine. So, what's yours? If you're not telling me you're keeping it in the can. The trashcan as they call it in Oregon. That's right. You've found him. It's dusty bin.

Applauds.

No Fyffes

I knew they'd have a hand in it.

This takeover talk must have fried my brain. Every time I hear the news and the £65 billion takeover of Astra Zeneca  comes up, my brain registers it as the £65 billion takeover of Aston Villa. ::)

I'm interested to know what my bits and pieces from my ICI days are worth when this happens, I may be a few bob short of buying the club though

We're all wrong - apparently a rather large disc jockey is our new owner.

And you know, although I'm normally a fan of Country and Western music, I find this quite catchy.

Oh yes. Oh yes.

Well over on TBAR someone's posted a picture of an emoticon with a villa scarf alongside two dancing bananas. I must have missed something but somehow this has been interpreted as some form of sign that one of the richest men in the world is taking over.
It's these who are buying the club.

Or as the rumours are about Americans........

Oh man I hope it's the Banana Splits!!  Every home game we would be treated to a crazy show where they drove onto the pitch and tried to play football in their buggies!

We could have a Dear Drooper thread on this site, where we get to ask questions of a board member. I bet that has never been done before.

Q) How can I find out how many people are in the ground before the official attendance is announced?
A) Count all their legs and divide by 2.
