This is all very scientific and entertaining on a night when the Villa or any of other big teams are not playing. Thank you and keep it going.

He won't say he's looking for buyers, he'll have done that already. It just doesn't work like that in the real world.

He may announce a partnership (other investment) or a sale to someone else. Or he may say he's staying.

He's going though, and won't have wanted it announced til the season end because the price will have altered depending on where we finish.

Lambert may stay a season I guess, new owner will give him a chance.

Far more interesting and educational than biscuit-b*ll*cks. Or ITK/KFA.

I shall be very surprised if the sale of the club is not at an advanced stage. I think Randy has been doing his homework and sorted out an American buyer/s who hopefully will carry on the good work that he has initiated in the past.

His announcement, whatever it may be, will be of interest to all of us.

I think if I woke up tomorrow and had become a billionaire overnight, i'd seriously think about buying Villa and immediately closing it down purely so it could never, ever make me unhappy again.

Although to counter that the fact that Randy has said he is making a statement at the end of the season is in itself significant and largely unprecedented. So I'd suggest that implies that it must be reasonably big news whatever it is.

Maybe it is actually personal news? Maybe he's going to come out or something? Or maybe he's got a new kitten?

Nailed on. He is going to live as a woman, and wishes to be known as 'Yvonne'.

He'll release a press release through the club announcing the fact, which will then go on to quote the full lyrics to "I'm Every Woman" by Chaka Khan.

He will appear in the director's box at every home game dressed as Bet Lynch c.1979

Appearing at a home game would be a start

He's brave enough to go through gender reassignment operations but not to sit through 90 minutes of us getting our arse handed to us by Fulham on our own ground

I don't really get this "why is our chairman not at the games?" stuff. Why is it so important that the chairman has to be at the games?
I just want the chairman to run the club effectively and provide sufficient funds to deliver some progress: not being at the game is a 'nice to have'.

Fact is:Randy hasn't delivered the basics in terms of running the club effectively even if the funds have been forthcoming.

If there is to be a takeover, I'm sure Randy Lerner despite what some may think of him will be astute enough to realise that to seek out prospective buyers at this stage will be of no advantage to Aston Villa.  He will have known, as we suspect, that he was going to offload and would have actively been seeking out a buyer.  Looking for a buyer at this time could take time that we don't have.  Time for due diligence, and fit and proper persons etc could take us well into August allowing no time for much needed transfers for whoever is the manager.

I don't think it is so much about him not being at the games, it is more about the fact he used to be - frequently - but then stopped. If he'd never bothered, it would have gone unmentioned.

He stopped at about the same time he started cutting back, and the General did one from his thread, legging it off to that college with our marketing slogan.

That's why people mention it.

That bloody Walnuts, only ever thinks of himself. We should have a poll to express how annoyed we are with his performance. That'll show him.

The owner should sit on a huge throne and show his dissatisfaction via the traditional thumb method

I KNOW WHAT THE ANNOUNCEMENT IS!

A new independent Aston Villa Internet forum. He is 'Admin'. And he's getting a kitten.
