I bet I had a worse evening than anyone last night, except Paul Lambert's dog.

A divorced neighbour turned up drunk, wanting to borrow my car. I said no, so he took that as an invitation to stay and drink the contents of my fridge.

He also had his kids with him, whom he encouraged to entertain us with card tricks and musical numbers.

After that, an afternoon on the Holte watching the Villa play Hull City seems a delightful prospect

You need to move.  His problems and other peoples children's card tricks could be enought o tip anyone over the edge with or withoit watching 90 mins of watching avfc through your fingers.

By far the most important thing was stopping in the top flight. We clearly are going to do that.

Now the most important thing is for a takeover to go through.

Lambert should truly hang his head in shame for this season, but regardless of whether he stays or goes, nothing is going to markedly improve without a significant change in the approach to money, or we are going to wind up back here, yet again, in a year.

If Lerner is going to stay, then he needs to relax the wage control and the spending policy.

If he is going to go, then I hope he has a decent buyer lined up already, because without the above, we're going to continue like the last four years.

Completely agree, this summer is critical.

We don't if you look at what Henry has managed at Liverpool. The money just needs to be spent better and with an actual plan in mind, short, medium and long term. Randy has pumped enough money into this club to make us a top 6-7 club on a consistent basis. The money for the most part has been pissed away. I'm sure if he could do it all again, Randy would do things very differently. The next bloke just needs to heed the mistakes made by the current owner and get better people around him.

I have also been re running Stella Street. At its best that was laugh out loud funny. Mick and Keef owning the corner shop was/is comedy gold

Very interesting listening to SGT on WM on the way back today. He was asked would he take on a DoF role at the club, and he basically said IF he was offered it and IF he was sure the whole club was pulling in the same direction with the same goal of getting the club into the top six where it belongs, then yes he would consider it.
