If the owners of JLR took us over would it be Tata Villa? ;D

As with all takeover news/rumours, it's best to wait to see if anything happens before we start scribbling down our new new manager/players wish list. I'll never forget that back page headline in The Mirror from years ago when apparently we were going to be taken over by Argentinians and Ozzie Ardiles was going to be our new manager.

True, but to be fair, the Mirror is to factual reporting what Godfrey Bloom is to militant feminism.

Gary McAllister would have done.   Bald Gary.    AKA Garybaldy.

Fantastic Brian, I've been trying to use that particular biscuit in some type of pun for years but I've never made it fit.

I doff my cap to you sir.

Season Ticket renewal time? was thinking of not renewing but must go today and renew before all the seats are snapped up prior to us winning the Premier League and Champions League in next 3 years. Oh, just remembered Man City spent hundreds of millions and will not win the league - I was almost getting excited at this news.

Haven't read further back than page 40, so sorry if repeating.

Larry Ellison is the name that's doing the rounds

I had heard that the Carnival Cruises guy was the buyer.

I have to say if it is Ellison that is a lot more attractive, that guy is a straight up balla. 4 x richer than Abramohvic , 5th richest person in the world & just a general bad ass. Of course he could be the worst owner since Carson, but it would seem likely there would be investment.

Just googled Larry Ellison. Holy crap. He's 32 times as wealthy as Lerner. That's stupidly rich.

Are we allowed to start fantasising about signing Ronaldo?

We'd still have to conform to the FFP rules wouldn't we? Which though a new owner would mean a more significant transfer budget, we wouldn't necessarily see big name players here.
I think if anything the best we'd hope for is spending the sort of levels we did under O Neill. Even under our current austerity we're struggling to get our wage/turnover ratio at an acceptable level.

That is of course if they ever decide to properly enforce those rules.

I'd settle for someone with drive and an interest in making us successful again and the business know how to achieve it. A proven winner in the sports arena.

Agreed. Although some gold slabs might make Platini turn the other cheek. Hopefully in his pocket. Whilst in a sack. Whilst in the Thames. You get the idea.

The mere fact that we're being linked with a guy worth $44 billion is enough to ensure it's bullshit.
