Where Eastie also let himself down was when he started posting over at TBAR, for some reason he started making one or two unnecessary sly digs at people on here and was generally giving the impression that he didn't like this site very much. Now that's fine if that's how you feel, but he was still happily posting away on here at the same time. It was a little bit two-faced and not the way to go about things really. Anyway, he seems to be happy where he is so I suggest leaving him to it.

With regard to eastie's form you have to ask yourself is going on another forum and having sly digs at people on here any worse than being on here regularly and being thoroughly obnoxious to others but never being banned for it.  For all its faults I love H and V but others may want something different.

Good god, they've got scrolling text at the top of the page on that other forum saying:

'Randy Lerner to sell up? Exciting news as this story breaks first on The Bells Are Ringing. Register now to have your say... '

Could they be any more obvious?

I find it unlikely that anybody carrying out due diligence for the purposes of a private share/asset acquisition would breach confidentiality and risk their practising certificate, whether the target be Aston Villa or elements of Co-Op Bank.

If they have, I expect to be reading about them being struck off in the Gazette shortly.

If MOMS haven't broken it first or reposted an article alluding to a takeover now or in the future at any point.....then it can't be true!

I know, thats what I'm saying, its the most obvious clickbait I've ever seen.

Its one thing when its bullshit merchant websites like caughtoffside.com making up transfer rumours, but trying to trick other Villa fans into signing up to your website is really low IMO.

We're sounding like the BBC with all the navel gazing going on.

I prefer it when people are whinging about the Villa, not each other.

In that case it definitely isn't true because I took my daughter to school today and none of the moms said anything about a Villa takeover.

Hypothetically speaking, imagine somebody like the media-giant Thompson takes us over and decides he is going to do a Man City spending wise.

How would that fit into the FFP rules?

I'd assume the FFP rules are going to be widely ignored but we should have a better idea by the time UEFA confirm which clubs have been given a licence to play in The Champions League/Europa League next season.

If the likes of Monaco and Man City are allowed in (which they almost certainly will be), then it'll prove that the FFP rules are meaningless.

Even if UEFA do enforce the rules strictly, I'd expect a club that was barred from Europe to challenge the regulations in court and have a strong chance of winning.

I do think, however, than any hypothetical would-be Abramovich looking to buy the Villa might wait and see how the FFP rules pan out before making a bid to purchase the club.

Hasn't this gone through yet? Bloody hell Villa! The rumour started a good 24 hours ago. Sort it out! Just shows how far we've fallen etc etc.
