Misleading fellow villa fans just to gain new members to a website is a little bit shameful really.

You're right, although I am still waiting for Juninho to sign, as was promised when I first stumbled across H&V...

I have no idea what he was banned for, or why we are still talking about it. If he got the chop he must have done something very silly as the Mods here are very lenient compared to most places.

He was banned for doing something absolutely prattish - and genuinely, quite offensive - and when challenged about it, denying it, despite us having masses of proof that it was absolutely true.

Anyway, he seems happy where he is now, I notice his every other post on there is something along the lines of "this is a lovely forum"

Prattish I dont mind. Genuinely offensive I most certainly do. Ah well he's a silly boy.

Doug has found some money down the back of the sofa and he's buying us back.  Let the good times roll.

Same as it ever was

Whatever Eastie has done, when I was enduring half a year of the financial and personal nightmare which is identity theft, he took the trouble to find out where I had gone and how I was doing.  Getting past the ring fence put around me (illegally and without justification) by BT and TalkTalk, took some patience and some bottle.   I like the guy.

He will be sadly missed in the Bears and Pears thread, that's for sure.

My son said of him, Eastie is not so much a poster as a stream of consciousness.   Whatever he has done to get himself barred I wish he had not done it because he will be missed by some of us at least.

I don't specifically want a take-over. I would prefer our present owner to just show some interest and enthusiasm...

And where's Eastie?

To put a cap on the eastie stuff.... I know he is curently telling people on TBAR that he sent PMs to "three people" inviting them to another site and got banned for it.

Which is utter nonsense, he sent so many of them, he triggered the anti-flooding feature on the site, which flags an alarm if too many PMs get sent by one person inside a certain time. That's the only reason we actually knew about them at all.

One of the members he sent them to forwarded it to us and it was of the "come to this new forum, too many wankers on here, mods all hitlers" variety.

We told him this, and that we were disappointed, and flagged up the breach of rules, and he said "OMG! My account has been hacked!!!!!".

Eastie always struck me as someone desperately wanting to be liked.  There was a time not long ago just after he came back from his self-imposed exile where he felt he was being singled out for ridicule after every post he offered.  He pm'd me a couple of times about this, why I don't know, he must have taken a shine to me for some reason.  He was thinking of quitting the site for good over this.  My advice IIRC was, not to let anyone get under your skin, it is an open forum after all.  If he did quit then if what he felt was true then those aiming the ridicule at him had succeeded in driving him off.

As I said to someone earlier this evening: Eastie reminded me of that kid at school that always had to be at the front of any line that had to be formed up, and also the one seeking teachers' approval by wanting to be the first one picked to answer when the teacher asked a question.  If he's guilty of any breach of site rules and abusive with it, then there's only one outcome.  Pity, I like him and will actually miss him posting on here.
