He is very popular here, OK Americans don't have that dislike of people just because they are rich thing going on. In fact that is why they do like him American dream and thing. Like him or not he would make Aston Villa successful.

Even if the guy's never heard of us, I prefer any rumour to the alternative, which is the sure knowledge that we'll be drifting along for some time to come yet.

It struck me earlier today that following Villa these days is like living in one of those beige, socialist utopias. All the decisions, crazy ones as well, happening without explanation or a recognisable purpose; seeing no money spent and pretending we're competitive; talking about a future that might happen but has no actual timeframe. It's not a nightmare, it's not hell on Earth, it's just...existence.

Didn't Fox come out and say that we should be challenging consistently in the top 7/8 and that it shouldn't take more than 3 years? Something along those lines. Sounds to me like we may be investing a bit more again, the only problem being do you trust Lambert to spend the money or do you trust him whatever is spent to make the team the sum of its parts?
