To be honest I think too many changes will be counter productive. I don't buy into this "Championship grade players" as that is their level. Although most of our lot last year were shit I think most would agree they were not anywhere near the level their actual ability warranted. I put it down to bad apples, poor managers and coaching and an apathy that had set in throughout the whole club.

Give them the benefit of some discipline, method of playing and proper coaching with modern ideas and the nucleus of our squad should not only get us back but also ensure some continuity when we get there.

Pull the bad ones and add with a few new faces and I think we will do well
Spot on, and any players that we do buy should be nailed on starters, non of this buying for the bench/squad etc, that's the role of the academy.

Of the list I produced, They were players I thought would go, not necessarily who I want to go. I would say 7 in would be top end, We also have maybe 5-6 players who are back from loans or serious injury, off the top of my head i would expect to see Gardner, Baker, Bennett, Traore, Okore, Kozak, Amavi all in and around the first team. We then have Toner and Lyden breaking in as well, were not in a bad position squad wise, providing we can get a tune out of some of the twats from last year

blimey,  this guy makes Dr X look like he hasn't got two bob to rub together.

I believe Villa have been sold to the Recon Group, not Dr. Xia per se.  Recon seem to  have an awful lot of assets and funds set up which makes me very confident that money is no problem for them.  If Wolves get taken over, bring it on.  It's great for the West Mids and we need real competition to spur us on.

Not sure where to put this but thought it fitted on this thread. Gollini, Tshibola, Andrew Stone. Nothing coming out of the club about these despite media outlets saying that deals are either done or imminent. Maybe they have it wrong but why are the club not announcing? Are they hoping to announce all in one go?

The club only make announcements once all the details are complete and the it's official. We're obviously not there yet.

That really doesn't help my impatience! :-)

Introduce them all at once?

The overriding importance is that we buy well.  The quick deals could be done with players desperate for a club.  We don't need those.

Now that Wales are out I'd expect us to unveil Williams very soon.

Agree with this...I remember watching us lead at Leicester until tactics tim went for the kill, and doing well at Palace until Guzan decided to liven things up for us.
The downward spiral with the same players was alarming...it ran right through the club. Hopefully, a decent manager, decent coaching and decent game plans will see it change without the need for massive player in and outs..

According to Labrokes the medicals on Gollini and Tshibola are still to be completed.
