I've got to say, much like villa talk, I quite like TBAR. I think mainly because they are all onboard with the rumours and it offers a glimmer of hope that something better is coming...I've been worn down for so long by having no success that it's nice to have a bit of excitement again...like reading a tabloid paper if you like.After the initial furour dies down they will find their place in the online villa community....it's probably not worth the old boys club going to war over is it? Let's get back to supporting the club. UTV

I see this point of view. We're far less likely to get carried away here on H&V and I'll admit the prospect of being excited about the club once again is very appealing. I just really really hope it's not a false dawn as then we'll be more depressed than before.

I had a text off my girlfriend last night asking what was going on at Villa because she'd heard something on the Radio 2 news would you believe. There was nothing in it of course and there is nothing in it now as far as anyone knows. I refuse to get excited because nothing has happened. I'll believe a sale of the club when I see it. Also our current owner is a billionaire who can't afford or won't sanction the spending required to compete so what's to say the new owner will be any different. Things at the moment are shit and no amount of excited puppies online are going to change that for me. Bah, humbug.

I had a text from Hinchingbroke Hospital asking me more or less the same thing. It all goes back to when I was in the operating theatre and my phone rang in the prep room. It was that season ticket marketing stunt when you got a "call" from Gareth Barry. When I woke up an excited nurse, the granny of a Villa youth team player, told me that I had had a call from Gareth Barry. On the strength of that my number is still the one they call for clarification of the labyrinthine goings on at Villa Park. What I would really like to do is have them call Darren who would be able to condense the last four years into a sentence and a half.

They have managed to get plenty of new members though.  Which was never the main aim, obviously, that was just a happy coincidence.

The reason I like this place is because irrespective of differences on personality and opinion you can be yourself and say what you need to say. Does that make you enemies on occasion, for sure. I find TBAR very fake and false and built on sand. The whole premise of loving each other because of this new found independence cannot be maintained. Especially when you consider one of the binders being their members and supposed ITK's. When those myths are shattered as ultimately they have been then new members who might have joined for that reason aren't going to hang around. What will be left are those disenchanted with other places. It forms a very unique club and one where they won't tolerate views and perspectives different from theirs. That's their achilles heel.
