Actually I don't think we should bother with a formation as it doesn't seem to have worked lately so why not try something else?

I'd maybe ask the players to perform a ballet interpretation of the Global Banking Crisis.

While the Palace players get confused, wondering whether that last pirouette was a critique of consumer capitalism or if it was a reference to the sad disappearance of Keynesianism, we pounce.

Guzan... THUD!... Holt... THWACK!... Bowery... CRUNCH... GOOOOAAAAAALLLL!!!

And there shall be much rejoicing.

I think this would be first on MOTD and Sky Arts.
And we would win, so AVTV as well.
Result. Bring it on.

Fantastic imagination. Puncheon and Chamakh look as thick as pig muck so that's their forward line outfoxed for starters.

If only it were as simple as writing down GK + three numbers that add up to 10 and putting names against the numbers.

I'd go -

Guzan

Lowton
Vlaar
Donacien (can't be any worse than the other two)
Bertrand

Delph
Westwood
KEA/Bacuna

Albrighton
Helenius/Robinson
Gabby

I know it's not what will happen but I'd like to go with it.  If we're putting out a similar team to the one we fielded Saturday, I'd struggle to see how we can win another game this season (even with Delph & Gabby back in).  If the first team is so poor & lacking in composure in the final 3rd what would it hurt to give a couple of younger lads like Robinson/Graham a go?  If they can't get in the team now, I fear they never will.  Same applies to Donacien, who I rate very highly.

I think it depends who we're playing that particular day. This Saturday for instance might be a game for Holt against a Tony Pulis team. Gabby through the middle might be best against Southampton.

I think it will be be Guzan, Bertrand, Lowton, Vlaar and Baker at the back.

KEA, Westwood and Delph in midfield, with Gabby, Bacuna and Holt up front.

KEA, Westwood and Delph in midfield, with Gabby, Bacuna and Holt up front.

IMO, Bacuna needs too much time on the ball to play that far up that pitch, his touch isn't tight enough to create chances in those areas from what I've seen.
