I have been led to believe that had we managed to get three points today we would have been safe from relegation barring a massive turn-around in GD, given the matches between the teams (still) currently below us. Is this correct?

I think 38 will do it for sure but it may be less .

Sky - at the final whistle - were singing and hooting that Stoke were definitely safe now.

Doesn't really matter for me, we'll stay up with a fair bit to spare. I just wish we'd stop being such a mentalist side.

Mathematically no, but in probability yes.

I genuinely think 1 more point will do it. I can see 3 teams failing to make it to 35.

we'll be safe. It's just a matter of how we get there. I'm not going to predict what's going to happen between now and the end of the season because knowing us it'll be anything but predictable.

I think we'll be safe with a minimum 37 points but that's not the point. No Villa team should ever be happy with just surviving in the PL. Show a bit of pride in the club, Lerner and open your bloody wallet in the summer!

I can see us finishing higher than last season but the points total won't be much more.

This side are like the alcoholic father you can never depend on.

I have given up predicting anything, just fed up of the same crap year after year.

We will get it in our next game.

I can feel it in the water, I feel the earth move, Galadriel said so.

Having a quick look, it is close to that if everyone wins all the matches that they can but with Sunderland having two games in hand, compared to the rest, it is not quite.

WM was saying we still aren't safe because if Cardiff beat Albion then they will be close to the Villa. But surely in that situation, Albion should be worrying more then us.

We will be safe when we beat Man Utd and Fulham.
