Just watched highlights...Baker is involved and fails terrible at every goal!
Then the showed a few other chances for stoke and he is actually WORSE in those sequences...

Lambert never learns, he continues playing the same players like Sylla and Baker and they continue to make the same mistakes.Either he is clueless or just stubborn.Probably both!

Not sure he has that many alternatives, Clarke has not exactly been brilliant and who have we got to play in midfield?

Clark?

That's not a spelling correction, btw, a genuine suggestion. I think he's better there than he is in defence.
I wouldn't mind him as an anchor to allow Westwood further forward, but Lambert just doesn't rate him as a midfielder. He could do no worse than Sylla though. Bloody awful player. I've not always been KEA's biggest fan but the fact we really miss him since Sylla's been on, says a lot.

Bacuna is great as a defender when he's up against tricky wingers he's a liability against any long balls or physical wingers!

Not a bad shout, or put Bacuna in the middle and bring on Lowton. When there are so many awful performances though

Defence all over the shop. Midfield not connecting. Nothing working up top

I'm not really sure what the formation is now either, maybe the players aren't either. Albrighton should be out wide providing width i know that much

I'd say it can only get better, but i fear it could get worse.

You have to laugh, Sylla's first interaction with the ball when he came on was to "trap" it about fifteen yards.

Welcome to Villa Park.

Heskey must have left his "How to trap a football" handbook somewhere around Bodymoor Heath.

If we carry on like the last 30 minutes of the first half, then I think we're going to take a thumping here.

I fear with the likes of Sylla on the pitch it just won't happen...

Early goal and we can win this. Pace and movement and Stoke will be fucked. Play like we did most of the last half hour and it will be us pulling our pants down.
