Port Vale 2-3 Aston Villa John Rudge Testimonial Game 1993

Never seen the goals from this game  before,  a pre-season friendly in summer of 1993. Goals for McGrath, Townsend and Daley. Anyone remember this?

I went to it. Noticed what a ramshackle ground it had become.

Three of us went up in the car, a warm evening spent outside a pub just off J15 after the game.
I think BFR was away sorting the Guy Whittingham deal .

Thanks for that, I went to that game, I was home on leave from the Army, got immensely drunk in Burslem and slept in the grottiest B&B ever over some horrible pub.

I was at this game, must admit i had forgot all about it. All i can remember is, it was a nice warm sunny evening and as someone mentioned earlier, the ground from my last visit had become somewhat ramshackle.

I didn't go to this one but I went to Walsall where I'm pretty sure Whittingham made his debut and scored.
