Chelsea are certainly a team I can't stand nowadays after actually being indifferent to them for the first few years of the Abramovich era.

As I said on the pre match thread it's probably all the ridiculous decisions that have gone against us v them in the last few years so yesterday was perfect.

Finally beating Man. United at Villa park again would top yesterday though, that day has to come sooner or later surely particularly if Moyes remains at the helm for next season.

Our best chance of beating United at VP would have been if they had appointed Mourinho!

I should be wound up by things like Beasley's piece and Chelsea's wining but as I'm in a great mood it doesn't bother me. If there is one game where we deserved a couple of decisions it is Chelsea after what happened at their place last August. They should also be grateful that a disallowed goal and soft second yellow card have taken the spotlight off possibly the worst tackle of the season.

Well I couldn't see the game yesterday and I was delighted to hear the result, brilliant stuff. Seen the highlights this morning and what a fabulous goal from Fab! How Mourinho could argue about the Ramires challenge I have no idea. Well done Villa, excellent.

You say you didn't see the game yesterday. Before catching up with the highlights this morning did you write an article under the name Rob Beasley?

I don't think so as I was happy with the result.

So happy tonight, well done my beloved Villa, highlight of the day my brother in law Steve (terminally ill with bone cancer) ringing me after the game and laughing and crying with joy.

your brothers not Paul is it , used to both go on the Sutton coach ,  either way sorry to hear about your brother ,  and glad it made him smile .

Hi Sunny, his name is Steven Mathers, he isnt able to go to home games anymore as he gets so tired but watches Villa at home, when we win I cant wait to speak to him as it gives him such a lift which in turn gives me an extra buzz, last night was very special, Up the Villa.

Everyone should look at that game yesterday and realise we're too good to settle for mediocrity. Just a perfect evening.

anyone who might have thought Lambert was losing the team because of some poor results a few weeks back might now want to reassess that position. Not only from the outcome of the game, but also in how we stood up for ourselves and each other throughout the entire 90 minutes. There's a real steel emerging in this side, and even though some of these players won't be here after the summer and others will arrive, yesterday hinted at a cultural change at the club. We've been too long the kicked dog. Now we developing a bit of bite and we showed we're not afraid.

MOTD Extra on now, with Guy Mowbray, Henry Winter and Kevin Kilbane - all saying very complimentary things about Villa and Mowbray saying he was trying to keep a straight face when interviewing the chosen one after the game: 'I'm saying nothing' and then proceeding to say everything except directly call the ref a cheat. I hope the FA see through that and don't pillory Foy, who i thought had a good game and worked with his linesmen well (and that's not just because we won).
