Cheltenham 2014

Well, no ones started a thread and it starts tomorrow, so here goes:

Anyone going this year?
Anyone have any tips, certainties, inside info from some bloke down the pub?

Going tomorrow myself. Always a great day out the Tuesday. The Champion Hurdle looks an absolute belter of a renewal. Have backed Our Conor earlier this year, but not quite as bullish about his chances now.

Strongly fancy Rock on Ruby for the Arkle. Has great Cheltenham form, which is always important at the festival.

I was asked for my four bankers for the festival this morning and went with Irving, The New One, Quevega and Big Bucks.

That will change I'm sure as the hours pass towards 1.30 tommorow.

Will be there tomorrow, Thursday and Friday (my birthday), it's the best week of the year and the weather is going to be great.

I used to work in Oldbury and get the train into Birmingham, the few years of that has led to me having an informed opinion that Cheltenham is just an excuse from Irish people to visit England, get incredibly drunk and get into arguments on the train.  I know that's not really related but whenever I hear someone refer to the Cheltenham Festival the first thing that comes to mind is how shit the trains are going to be for a week.

Quevega is the annual "get you out the brown stuff horse" on the Tuesday.

I'm going Friday. Don't know anything about horses but it's a great day out and the Guinness will be flowing.

Going on Friday. Tips? No idea. I just rock up and plonk each ways on something around 25-1.

It is a quite magnificent day out.

What days are they each running? Sounds like a plan for a cheeky lucky 15.

I agree totally. I bet each way on anything 20/1 and over.

It is a brill day out, it's like a boozy away game without the worry of the footy!

I'd love Big Bucks to win the World Hurdle. Would be a great story

I just think its a hell of a lot to ask, considering the injury and the emergence of Annie Power.
