Villa 3-2 Sheff Weds.

Really good game this on a terrible pitch, two bizarre goals from Savo and a scorcher from Townsend. We'd just reached the final of the Coca-Cola Cup but had lost 3-0 to Liverpool the Sunday before, they blitzed us 3-0 in about the first five minutes. This match was played on a Wednesday night. Regi Blinker scores two on his debut for them, Guy Whttingham made his first appearance at Villa Park since leaving AVFC the  season before. Remember Waddle playing really well for them too in this game. There was a spate of games around this time where some Holte Enders were throwing toilet rolls onto the pitch. Julian Joachim might have made his debut this night or was it the Blackburn game where he scored?

Regi Blinker. Bloody hell. Blast from the past there. Can't believe he mugged off God so easily for his first goal. He looked a really good player in his early days for them, but ended up at the footballing graveyard of SPL with Celtic. Albeit when it was only slightly shit, rather than very shit.
