Anyone going to continue to defend our idiot of a manager?

T
Anyone going to continue to defend our idiot of a manager?
That will come later, along with accusations of hysteria and bed-wetting.

And let's not forget that other H&V buzzword, 'hyperbole'.

I've told you a million times, do not exaggerate!

I nearly kicked the telly in when I saw Bennett coming on. He really is an utter waste of space.

I hope there's no truth to this:

Looks like there "might" have been an altercation between the players in the tunnel at FT. #AVFC

Actually, I thought that Twitter user was the one who works at TalkSport, but it isn't, so probably nonsense. Not that TS is a mark of truth.

This really is a dreadful era to be a Villa fan. It's easily the worst squad of players since '87. The worst part about it is that there doesn't seem to be any sign of it changing.

I don't think that's even the worst bit.

I can't believe that we've started to talk to him about a new contract. What kind of message does that send, at this point of time? That we're not just satisfied with this level of shitness, we're actually happy with it?

That says it all.

If this was an Ellis charge there would be shouts for blood on the streets, Randy not a clue, Lambert if you only had as much a clue as Randy, when have we accepted crap at Villa Park as not only the norm but the acceptable, we do not want to be creditable now, we just want to be here. Please Randy do one of two things for the benefit of the tatoo on your leg, make us count or go and take Mr. Lambert and Benteke with you, one on the pitch totally unacceptable and the other one of the pitch without a clue.
Yes. Also Mr.Ellis was there but Lerner? No chance.

The only positive I can think of is that football can change in a split second.

Norwich has become a massive match now. Which is shit.
We'll beat them.

What evidence do you base this on Tom?

It looks like we are approaching high tide and the happy clappers are being washed in.

Quote from:  official site

Paul Lambert on Tyneside defeat.

Paul Lambert said his team deserved a draw after watching them concede a last-minute goal to Newcastle.

Lambert felt one point would have been fair reward for the efforts of his side, who dominated the first half on Tyneside.

He accepted that the Geordies came back strong after the break but insisted it was an even game overall.

What annoyed the boss most of all was the fact the late sickener came as a result of a defensive error from his own side.

He said: "It's a hard one to take, very much so.

"I thought we deserved a draw. I don't think we deserved to lose it. I thought a draw would probably have been fair.

"We were great in the first half. We had chance after chance and looked threatening.

"At the end I didn't think anyone was going to score.

"Newcastle had a bit of pressure in the second half but I didn't think there was much in it.

"I thought we dominated the first half. We were very good in the first half and looked a threat.

"We might have scored but it never materialised.

"It was a defensive error from ourselves and we have been punished. You don't lose a goal with 30 seconds to go. The disappointing thing is that we had the ball.

"Defensively we should have knocked it up the pitch and then the game is finished. You kick the ball as far as you can up the pitch.

"We got away with it when Ron tried to beat the lad on the line. That happens and then you think it's going to be like that.

"You can't take anything away from the lad after the finish but we should have seen the game through.

"It's a right hard place to play and you can't take a chance. We took too many chances."

Lambert is still confident with 11 games remaining.

He continued: "If you look at the league from 10th down, everyone is in it.

"There are a lot of games to go. There will be plenty of toing and froing. It will be a low tally with the way the league is. But if we keep looking after ourselves we will be alright. We have been through it so we know what it's like.

"They had belief to come and play like that up here. You take a lot from that. If we keep playing like that, we will win more than that. You go and try to win the next one."

Lambert revealed that Ashley Westwood was withdrawn in the second half with a deadleg while Ryan Bertrand did well to play as long as he did, as he had a virus in the run-up to the game.

Without being brilliant we were the better team until Westwood went off, even then they weren't really hurting us. The problem is that Benteke is a shadow of the player he was last season so too often it petered out on the edge of the box. Typical of us this season to concede a soft goal at the death.
