The quality of football displayed today, suggests that we will struggle to beat anybody.

We need a change, the team is stale, clueless, lacks direction, motivation.

Nooccastle were shite today, and there for the taking, we weren't good enough to do it.How many times in reasonable positions today the lack of a final quality ball let us down, Gabby was truly awful today.

People are being way too harsh on Benteke. This "system" we play is absolutely ridiculous but he's there winning a lot of headers and causing problems for defenders. Where are the players around him trying to, you know, help him? It's impossible for him to do it on his own!

The thing is, he was doing far better last season. He'll come back to form though, I'm sure.

True but he's young and the second season is always difficult for young players. He'll start banging them in soon and people on here will feel really stupid about doubting him.

positive note westwood had a great game, also thought vlaar and baker were excellent apart from last few minutes. The substitutions cost us a point, so negative and put us on the back foot. Albrighton would have given us some injection out wide. Awful to lose like that.

Norwich has become a massive match now. Which is shit.
We'll beat them.

I said it a few months ago that I would not put money on us beating anyone & by that I mean anyone. I've seen nothing (other that the 45 against Liverpool) to suggest we not be in for another long three months. We just need to hope that other teams are as generous to us as we've been to them.

It has to catch up with us at some point.

On current form and with the fixtures we have left I think 40 points is a very tough ask - we are in trouble.

I really have no love left for football. It's just so draining and miserable.

Exactly this.

Just think, there's the always joyous experience of watching England at a major tournament at the end of this season as well!!

There are 11 games left.

Our record for the last 11 league games is:

LLDWLDWLLDL

That's 9 points from 33, which is pathetic.

If we repeat that for the remaining 11 games. We will end up on 37 points, which as well as probably meaning relegation, would be utterly pathetic.

That means that we are going to have to find some much improved form. I can't see that happening.

If we accept 40 as the survival mark, then an extra 3 points from 11 games doesn't really need much improvement on our current form. Which says much for how shit the bottom half of this division is.

I'll grasp at that straw!

With Norwich, Stoke, Fulham and Hull to come to VP it should be a doddle. But this is the Villa we're talking about.

What exactly is Benteke supposed to do with crosses hit 20 yards over his head? I'd probably lose interest too.
Oh yes, and the guy who can probably give him the best service, who is in form, is watching from the bench. Pathetic.

Exactly.

Benteke didnt play well and obviously isnt the beast we all thought from the last 4 months of last season. However, you have to play to his strengths which is crosses from out wide i.e Albrighton.

Ive said for months you cant play with the front three we have. Drop Gabby or Andi and play Albrighton.

Playing the long ball isnt pretty and doesnt work.

I would have sacked lambert after sheff utd, but the players alsohave to take responsibility.

Baker played well as did Westy. Other were v poor

Its all very tedious

We are, but 8 other teams are saying the same thing. It really is a lottery, not one of the teams are showing any signs of consistency / improving.

Lambert is the main problem, he just doesn't know how to win a game. Look at today for example, Newcastle were shit but we seemed content holding on for a 0-0 draw.

Regarding Benteke, you must have been watching a very, very, very different match to me today. His performance was disgusting

Benteke won a massive 21 aerial duels today. Hardly what I'd describe as disgusting.
