I will not be renewing my season ticket next season. This game has sealed it for me not to renew.

That's what you get when you spent 18 months with a clueless manager in charge.

Pathetic.

Norwich is now a six pointer. Lose that and we're in the brown stuff.

Lose that and surely the fans will finally  turn on him .

An ok first half which was fairly even on chances, the second half was just amazingly poor again.

We really are just a one trick pony with our 'boot it up to Benteke' philosophy, unfortunately when it doesn't come off, which is more often than not now, we look more like a lame donkey. Benteke isn't playing well, but do the tactics really suit him? He should be on the end of flick ons  or getting nice balls passed through on the ground to him. I also wonder what our actual success rate is for retention when we do boot it up to Benteke. From just watching recent games i'm guessing it can't be more than 30-40%

Notable mentions - Westwood and KEA in the first half.

As for Lambert. Sylla for Westwood - why? Bennett for Bertrand - why? No Albrighton - why? No Plan B - why?

I was just writing a draw away from home wouldn't be a bad result, but when you consider our home form, and that Newcastle have the worst form in the league at the moment and are on the back of a terrible run, we really need to be getting 3 points from games like this. Just saw that Newcastle got a late winner. WTF!

I am seriously worried now, i really do struggle to see where we are going to pick up points from and i don't see us going on a run like last year. Norwich next week is a must win.

Guzan 7/10
Bacuna 5/10
Vlaar 7/10
Baker 6/10
Bertrand 7/10
Westwood 8/10
Delph 5/10
El Ahmadi 6/10
Agbonlahor 1/10
Benteke 2/10
Weimann 1/10

Sylla 0/10
Bennett 1/10

Horrendous substitutions, horrendous attacking, horrendous football. Just get him out. Our front three were absolutely pathetic. Our left hand side with Sylla and Bennett late on is the worst Aston Villa has ever, ever had. It's getting as bad as McLeish, he needs to be gone. Now.

Another kick in the teeth for the fans. Lose against Norwich and I think any remaining goodwill and support Lambert enjoys may well give way to outright hostility.

Utter shite the front 3 were so inempt today and yet Albrighton is kept on the bench. If I was him I would not even bother signing a new deal under Lambert.

Bacuna every fucking time he gets the ball he hits it long, when he play's RB he is so worried about losing ball he time and time again hits it long.Bennet WTF its take a special type of clueless ****** to buy 2 LB's and have them both be unable to fucking defend !!!

We are very much in a relegation fight now and to be honest I think we are clearly one of the worst teams in the league currently. If we stay up it will have more to do with the others being worse than anything we do.

Oh come off it, when Benteke signed a new contract everybody was pleased. Now we look back and sarcastically berate Lambert for it?

"The lads were terrific, can't fault the effort. We're a young team.... we go again."

I count 4 league wins in 5 months. Horrific.

Lerner should be pulling the trigger right now but instead he's getting a new contract printed up. We are well and truly f*cked. If they think we aren't in a relegation battle they are deluded.

I count myself in the deluded camp as I backed us to win with CB to score... what a pratt!

I stuggle to see us winning any games anymore, if I am honest, this is just dire.

Although we are far from safe, I doubt we will go down this season, but I'm struggling to get excited by another struggle to get to 40 points.

If we stay up, then it just feels like putting off the inevitable, it will eventually happen.

Bewildering tactics and decisions, players who are blatantly not good enough.

Unless something remarkable happens between how and the end of the season, I'd sack him in the summer, I'm afraid. We are - at the very best, by the most generous interpretation - standing still.

The happy times / sad times balance is completely, completely fucked up. It just goes on and on, week after week, being so unfulfilling.

I am just gob smacked anyone at the club is sufficiently pleased with that to talk new contracts, when the discussion should be about whether or not it is working.

Wonderful team selection and tactics from Mumbles again .

Why no Albrighton ? What was wrong with Bertrand ?

When the best options from the bench are sylla and Bennett we're fucked

The lack of nous and intelligence in this Villa team is appalling. You just knew Newcastle were going to bloody score at the end, whereas we had enough chances to win at a canter. It's so frustrating to watch, between this and the Cardiff game a single point just isn't good enough. I don't think we'll go down but it'll be more by luck than judgement.
