I would like to see Benteke putting a bit more effort in, on the whole we look the better side so far.

Oh yeah, why did Vlaar get booked for his 1st challenge when several of theirs have made several fouls?

Westwood needs to be more positive, and take control of the game. Not under any pressure from Nooocastle, needs to be more effective and pick a better pass.

Gabby for me is Villa summed up, looks brilliant at times, but sometimes his touch, vision, pass, is lacking.

Bacuna looks a quality RB by the way.

In small brief moments Gabby reminds me of the proper Ronaldo, the brazilian one....without the classy finishing

Both Westwood and bacuna have been superb and it's been a very decent 45 mins from our boys.

I'll be surprised if Newcastle are that poor again in the next half, so Vlaar and Baker need to get a grip after that abomination at the end of the half. Newcastle have been poor,  but they do have quality players in the team that could easily get through our defence if we're not careful.

Also, I think I'd probably sub Benteke off, but if that meant Holt coming on then I probably wouldn't, if only because it would probably mean more hoofing.

Fairly even half.

We look so much physically weaker than Newcastle, our players just bounce off them.
Vlaar and Baker both looking very good.
Westwood playing with some confidence, unlike Delph who just looks like the weakling in the playground. KEA second best to every ball but got in some great advanced positions.
Credit to the Newcastle defence, they've kept it tight for us at the back. We need to create space rather than playing into their hands.

We need to press them harder second half and run at them.

Both teams lack quality can see this being settled by a mistake by either defence... Probably ours

Not a bad shout, if Albie is the replacement.

Completely agree, the pessimism on here has left some people delusional and it's hilarious. Calling that 'garbage' is just laughable.

We were the better side by quite a way I think. We just need to hoof it slightly less and exploit our space in midfield and we'll get through.
