... to leave Warwickshire 16 overs batting on a gorgeous sunlit autumn evening.Westwood soon sliced to first slip but Varun Chopra and William Porterfield several times fluently dispatched the crimson rambler over the vivid Edgbaston greensward in the closing overs to promise riches on Wednesday.
There is definitely an opening position open and I think Lyth, Robson, Hales and possibly Vince will be competing for it.
Chris, what are your thoughts on Lyth? To me he seems to either make big scores or get out really cheaply (and was dropped early yesterday) but I can see England taking a look at a few openers over the next year and he seems to be among the names mentioned. He does bring some quality in the field though.
