Yes, that is annoying, the selectors need to be more flexible in releasing players back to their counties if they are not in the starting XI. It's not doing anyone any good if they are just ferrying drinks out. I can understand the team bonding bit but then maybe they should get the team together a couple of days earlier to allow that to happen.

Essex chased down 312 to set up a home tie in the quarter-finals of the Royal London Cup after a four-wicket victory against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road in their last Group A outing.

Victory made sure Essex will play at Chelmsford in the knockout stage, and Warwickshire will be the visitors in a repeat of the NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final.
