A good win for the Bears but I think is between Yorks and Notts.

''Do you wanna bet against us''
You are probably be correct but these Bears don't give up. The next couple of rounds of fixtures make interesting reading:
31/8/14
Durham v Notts
Lancs v Yorks
Middx v Bears
then on 09/09/14
Notts v Yorks
Bears v Northants
Could be a completely different picture after those!!

4 days of great cricket, an excellent beer festival and another Bears victory. Sweet.

Trougton Retires Due To Injury

No great surprise. I thought he was an imaginative Captain and led the Bears well.

Chops should be made permanent captain now, I hope we don't lose him to England.

Gutted for him but as you say no real surprise.
I'm  sure Chopra will get the job now on a full time basis. He impresses me greatly when in charge.

I just hope JT can play some form of the game at Birmingham League level.

Chopra won't be going to England anytime soon unless he gets back to the form of last season. A few have leapfrogged him in the pecking order I reckon.

He's struggled with the bat in the long format this season but has played well in the short format. A reasonable end to the season where he builds on his innings against Somerset will see him back in contention. He was on a Lions tour with Robson earlier this year so he's on the selectors radar.
