Stunning piece of fielding from Adan Lyth and Aaron Finch in the hit and run to dismiss Smith at Old Trafford.

wow, that really is a bit special.

Fantastic, is that Adil Rashid bowling?

When did he slip off the England radar?

Durham playing again today down the road at New Rd against Worcester Rapids, where has that name come from, is it due to the speed of water running across the ground??
Anyway Durham made 105 from 13 overs, currently Pears,oh sod it Rapids are 91 - 4 with one over to go, 15 required off last over, Chris Rushworth to bowl it
Ball 1 - 6    9 off 5
Ball 2 - 4    5 off 4
Ball 3 - Out 5 off 3
Ball 4 - 6 Pears win by 5 wickets

When did he slip off the England radar?

It is, he tends to play more as a batsman who bowls these days for Yorkshire.

Wow, really?

He was the big leggy hope for us wasn't he?

I think Woakes may go this way, i'm much more confident in his batting than his bowling (although he seems to have gained a couple of mph this year and bulked out substantially).

He's a really decent batsman, got a few big scores in the last year or so but didn't bowl much last season, they seemed to use Azeem Rafiq as the spin bowling option.

98 for 2 at lunch.Wright and Patel got the wickets. Low flat track and with the the weather forecast a draw is most likely.

Strange day. Started sunny and breezy but then around 3pm the weather seriously closed in and the ground staff were poised to do their thing.  Ominously large raindrops falling. Then the sun came out in vengeance and the ground staff retreated to barracks. When the rain finally came down in the last session it was quite spectacular particularly where I was in the top the tier.

As for the cricket, our bowlers plugged away and the fielding was excellent. Another spectacular c&b from Rikki Clark who btw has not fielded at slip since his injury. Chris Wright looked threatening in spells and Patel got a bit of turn and bounce. But when you have Rankin and Clark on after 15 overs or so on a typical Edgbaston flat track and Patel is on soon after, you know it could well be a long day in the field.

Davies played some crisp drives and Croft was looking good.

If the weather forecasts have much accuracy, there will not be a lot of play before Wednesday.

It went dark quite suddenly and the lights came on. The ground staff were ready with the covers so you could be right about the rain. Can't see where the weather is coming from in the pavilion.Barker looked more threatening this morning.
