Looking on Oddschecker I see we are between 16/5 to as low as 2/1 to go down. The only ones shorter priced than us are Hull, Albion and the three promoted clubs.

Sunderland haven't signed anyone of note, they'll be down there again. Swansea aswell. After that I'm struggling.

I agree with you about Swansea and would throw Albion and Burnley into the mix too. Sunderland's record under Poyet was vey impressive. I think they had one point when he took over and he kept them up and got them to a cup final. Although I agree with you their squad on paper doesn't look hugely impressive.

Swansea seem to be applying the Ellis theory of managing history to Laudrup's squad and airbrushing it out of existence as quickly as possible.

According to reports over here, even Michu is lined up for a move back to Spain.

I think Michu is in 'advanced talks' with Napoli over a 'loan move with a view to a permanent transfer'. Two wonderfully modern football phrases in one sentence.

What are Swansea thinking of letting Michu go, unless they're worried about his injury problems? The only other two decent players they have are Ben Davies (who I think is very under rated) and Bony. They might be in trouble next season.

Michu's gone to Napoli on loan for the season. Very odd. If they sell Bony too they'll definitely struggle. I have to say, there's something about Gary Monk that I don't like. Can't put my finger on it.

There has been a lot of media talk about Michu being more interested in engineering a move than actually playing football last season and question marks about how injured he really was on occasions.

And the leading Sack Race odds are: 4/1 Alan Irvine, 6/1 Alan Pardew, 6/1 Sam Allardyce, 6/1 Harry Redknapp, 12/1 Paul Lambert, 14/1 Garry Monk
16/1 Nigel Pearson, 16/1 Ronald Koeman, 25/1 Gus Poyet

I wouldn't mind a reverse forecast on Irvine and Monk.

Ah I've already included the promoted three in the down there stakes. I think QPR and Leicester will stay up though.

Bottom 6/7 looking to me promoted three, us, Albion, Sunderland, Swansea.

Wigan always used to end the seasons in storming form beating the top teams which lead everyone to think they'd kick on the next season. They didn't, Sunderland will be down there once again.

Just because Crystal Palace went on a decent run in the second half of the season, I don't see that making them suddenly immune to a relegation battle. They wouldn't be the first team to look relatively solid in their first season and then drop like a stone.

Pulis teams just don't get relegated though, same principle with West Ham.

Both will probably flirt with the bottom 3 for a bit but they'll both win 9 or 10 home games which is generally enough as then you only need 1 or 2 away wins and bingo you're safe.

I've actually forgot to include a team I've actually tipped to go down...Hull. Overachieved last season and we've seen before decent teams knackered from playing in the Europa league.

Still be early to tip the bottom three as the transfer market is just kicking into gear.I certainly think we will be there or thereabouts for the drop.I don't see how we will turn  our horrendous form from the end of last season around without more quality added to squad, should be lose Vlaar we will be in big trouble.
