No new info at all. If you've ever wondered what the opposite of a Paxman interviewer is, it's that flim flam Dan Walker corporate BBC squeaky clean flake.

It's amazing what a Mach 3 can do these days.

Very true. I know beards are fashionable these days but whenever I saw Lambert with one I always thought of dirty piss-tramp rather than bearded hipster.

From the Birmingham Mail.

Quote
"I don't have any bad things (to say) about Aston Villa," said Lambert.

"It's a brilliant football club as everybody kows. I came in at a really tough time and obviously when the financial reports came out the losses are way down now.

"From my point of view the club's in a much healthier position than when I first went in there.

"It's a great club, great people I've left behind, good people I've left behind."

"There's times when you look back when you think maybe I should have done that better or different, but I've got nothing but good things about the club."

In other words he was happy with his settlement figure.

I wonder where he will end up next, probably an MLS club or a small club on the continent like our other TSM.

Financially yes and let's face it Paul from your point of view most games we were excellent and you couldn't fault the lads.  Deluded man.

Lambert should be keeping his head down until we are safe from relegation. After we are safe then we can all enjoy a round of "good times and bad, probably best for both sides, left the club in a better shape" etc etc.

If we do go down though his comments are going to look very foolish and many Villa fans are going to be rightfully angry towards him.

Keep a lid on it till season end Paul.

That's one way of looking at it.

Another way is that he knows we might well go down and so he is getting his interpretation in first.

He's always been respectful. It doesn't matter though. He's gone know. He can't hurt us anymore.

That is the crux of the matter.

Every manager wants to feel like they've left a club in a better state than what they got it. It's how they justify their own performance to themselves. I think there is some truth to it, though not as clear cut as he would like. The financials are far better. The squad is better. Up until the Chelsea home game last season, the performances were better. Since then the performances had got back to McLeish's approach.
